With this installed, the ONLY thing YouTube plays is ads. This extension does literally the OPPOSITE of what it says it does.

Updating Firefox also didn't help. Enhancer for YT seems to offer similar functionality and works instead.

Но понятно дело что в этом экране реклама, блокирование рекламы это и есть ошибка для ютуба, просто некоторые иные блокировщики перекрывают это изображение фоном. На данный момент функционал аддона специально сделанного под ютуб хуже чем у обычных блокировщиков.
