Privacy Policy

The Runnaroo search engine was designed from the ground up to protect the privacy of its users.

Simply put, we DO NOT:

- track your search queries
- store your personal information
- disclose your personal information to third-parties

Data Collection

Search queries: When you submit a search on Runnaroo we do not create user profiles based off search queries or store search activity to serve targeted results.

Cookies: We do not serve any tracking or identifying cookies.

IP addresses: If a user conducts a search looking for local results (e.g. "best pizza near me"), we will attempt to use the requester's IP address to provide relevant results. We DO NOT store the IP address associated with the search or use it for tracking. The one exception is that in certain situations it may be necessary to use IP addresses to prevent abuse of the service.

Server logs: Server logs are only used to identify technical issues with the Runnaroo website. We do not store server information that contains any personal or uniquely identifiable information.

Information Sharing

Data partners: Runnaroo's search results are comprised of information from many different underlying data sources. Your search term is anonymously sent to these search partners without any identifying information (IP, user agent, etc.) from your initial request, thereby anonymizing and placing a barrier between you and the underlying data source. We also fetch and display all images served from third-party sources through a proxy to prevent data leakage.

Ad partners: Our search results page may include a small number of ads clearly labeled as "relevant ads," which generate revenue and cover operational costs. We may also add an affiliate code to some results returned that result in small commissions being paid back to Runnaroo if you visit or make purchases at those sites (listed below). We never share personal information or information that could uniquely identify you with any ad partners. We also do not use any third parties to serve JavaScript or do code insertions on our pages.

Legal requirements: To the extent we receive a legally binding request to comply with a court order or applicable law, we will share the information requested of us to the extent we have it, but as noted above, this information would be limited by design.
