I just change my star rating to 5. The latest update really good, it fixes a issue that a lot of sites become dark and unusable✨

Everything is working as expect. But there is a bug in some sites changing all text to unreadable letter.
I think HTML filtering is the cause.

    Only using for a few days now, but the performance difference compared to the absurd Night Reader is instantly noticable. It's certainly not perfect yet but after changing to this it's difficult to go back.

    Great addon! Would be awesome if you could apply dark mode per window, so that I can keep the window on the main monitor with light theme, and apply dark mode for websites only on a secondary monitor.

    Oh goodness, finally, a dark mode extension that works well enough and does not destroy my device. Thank you. We can deal with the bugs, please keep developing <3 (and yes its seriously fast)

    I’m still working on it. I’m in a pause but next update will fix more bugs and bring new ui

    It hasn't actually worked yet. It doesn't change anything about the pages on this website, for example, or YouTube. Something may be blocking it, but I enabled permissions when asked by Firefox. I don't think it's uBlock, because it behaves the same way when that's disabled. Please advise! Or help

    Has issues with some sites. Sometimes it inexplicably stops working on a site and not just refreshing the page fixes it. When it works it works well and looks nice while being fast.

    Much faster than Dark Reader—the difference in performance is unreal. Dark Reader was really slowing down browser performance by about 70%. However, some features are somewhat broken, and it lacks some features found in Dark Reader. Website exclusion doesn't work on IP:port websites, and sometimes I get a broken half-dark, half-light theme that requires disabling and re-enabling UltimaDark, then refreshing the page to fix it. Additionally, you can't disable it on all websites by default and just enable manually on light websites like you can with Dark Reader

    Would love to be able to blacklist sites to not run this (Gmail behaves funky when this is enabled, I'm sure there are more sites that I'll run into the future)

    Other than that it works great.

    A major user interface overhaul is coming soon! In the meantime, the current UI already allows you to exclude sites from being darkened. If you don’t see the extension’s button pinned in your toolbar, it might still be hidden under the puzzle piece (🧩) menu, where newly installed extensions are grouped

    Is it possible to set dark mode to automatic based on the ligh/dark theme on my phone? I cant find it..

    The Android version of UltimaDark is available primarily to satisfy a few users, but it is not actively tested. However, since it is identical to the browser version, it inherits bug fixes and new features automatically. While we’re happy to hear that some users have it working, please remember that UltimaDark remains a highly niche and experimental project, so your experience may vary.

    That said, detection of the system night mode on desktop is already planned. If Android Firefox shares dark theme information with web extensions as Firefox Desktop does—which is very probably the case—then the Android version should inherit this functionality once implemented, with a bit of luck.

    Indeed fast :) but a lot of permissions needed
    works well on telegraaf.nl , better then dark reader.

    Each permission in UltimaDark is added only when absolutely necessary and is used in the most minimal way possible. Browsing history and cookies remains untouched. Clearing the cache is done on key moments (such as updating settings ) specifically to prevent loading unedited resources, ensuring consistent dark mode application across websites.

    While UltimaDark might perform better than other tools, such as Dark Reader, on certain websites (e.g., telegraaf.nl), it’s worth noting that Dark Reader is developed by a team of over 40 developers and more than 1300 contributors, whereas UltimaDark is free and still the result of a solo effort.

    My initial use found that my Proton Pass was rendered useless by the plugin. The dev fixed that with v1.6.11 -- LOVE this plugin now.
