Overview

Indexer is a bookmark and organization service that works across the web app and Indexer Extension. This policy explains what information we handle, why we handle it, and what choices you have.

We try to keep this simple. We collect only the information we need to run the service, improve the product, and respond to you.
Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Indexer, we may collect:

Account details such as your email address and login records.
Content you save, including links, titles, tags, notes, folders, favorites, and related metadata.
Sync and device information such as device identifiers, API keys, last-used timestamps, and sync status.
Messages you send us, including support requests and feedback.
Limited product usage and reliability information needed to operate and improve the service.


How We Use Information

We use information to:

Provide bookmarking, tagging, syncing, search, and account features.
Keep the service reliable and fix bugs.
Respond to support requests and account issues.
Understand which parts of the product need improvement.
Process billing-related actions if paid features are enabled.


We do not sell personal data. We use data to run Indexer, not to build a data brokerage business.
How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Indexer. These providers may include:

Hosting provider
Authentication provider
Analytics provider
Email provider
Payment provider (if enabled)


We share information with those providers only as needed to run the service. We may also disclose information if required to protect the service, enforce our terms, or comply with a legal obligation.
Data Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you save to Indexer.

We receive only a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display that content as needed to operate the product for you. That includes storing your saved items, syncing them across devices, and showing them back to you in the app or extension.
Data Retention

We keep account and saved-content data for as long as your account is active or as long as needed to provide the service.

If you ask us to delete your data, we will remove it from active systems within a reasonable period, subject to any backup, fraud prevention, billing, or legal needs that require limited retention.
Your Choices and Rights

You can ask for a copy of your data or ask us to delete it.

Browser Extension Notes

Indexer Extension may store bookmark and settings data in your browser so the extension can work quickly and keep your library organized.

When you save or manage bookmarks, the extension may process the page URL, title, description, preview image, tags, folder path, and sync metadata. If you connect the extension to your account, that information may sync with our backend so it is available in the web app.

The extension may also process limited technical data such as device identifiers, sync timestamps, and local settings needed for account connection, syncing, search, and reliability. Our extension disclosures should always match the actual implementation. We do not describe broader data collection than the product actually performs.
Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information and keep the service dependable.

No internet service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that data will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.
Children’s Privacy

Indexer is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will review the issue.
Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the product changes.

If we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and may provide additional notice through the service or by email.
