To provide the feature of skipping non-content segments (e.g., sponsored content, intros), the Extension communicates with the public SponsorBlock API (https://sponsor.ajay.app).
* What is sent: When you load a video, an anonymized 11-character Video ID is sent to the SponsorBlock API.
* Purpose: To retrieve timestamps for segments to be skipped.
* Privacy: This request is necessary for the functionality. The Extension does not send your IP address or cookies explicitly, though standard web requests naturally reveal IP addresses to the receiving server (SponsorBlock). 2.3. Local Storage

The Extension uses your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) solely to save your preferences (e.g., toggling specific features on/off). This data never leaves your device.

• YouTube: The Extension interacts with YouTube's website to modify the player interface and remove ads. It acts as a client-side filter and does not transmit your YouTube viewing data to us.
