What's new in 1.1.5

• Checkout coupons — Sniffit now finds working promo codes on checkout, registration, and booking pages. Look for the puppy with "I found coupons!" — tap it to see all available codes for the store, copy any code with one tap, and paste before you pay. Works on most online stores plus major booking and ticketing sites (Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia, Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, Viator, and more).

• Recent Sniffs and Settings now open inline (Android) — instead of opening in a separate tab, they slide open as full-height panels inside the page you're on. Faster and less disruptive.

• Coupon counter on mobile — a small "X coupons found!" tip pops above the toolbar's coupon button so you can see at a glance how many codes are available for the current store.

• Smarter checkout detection — now recognizes Shopify checkouts (/checkouts/...), event registration, ticket purchase flows, hotel and flight bookings, and other multi-step purchase pages.

• New "Checkout coupons" toggle in Sniffit → Settings — leave it on to get codes automatically, or turn it off if you'd rather not see them.

Plus a handful of bug fixes and small visual polish.

What's new

New on mobile
• Manual image-URL search. Tap the chain-link button on the
bottom toolbar (next to Settings) to paste any image URL and
find cheaper alternatives. A useful fallback when long-press
doesn't open our context menu on certain sites.

Fixes
• Long-press "Find similar product" now reliably appears on
the main product image, not just on thumbnails. It was
inconsistently silent on hero images before.
• Amazon mobile image extraction now picks the real product
hero instead of the "Sponsored" thumbnail above it. Was
often returning unrelated results (cables, USB cords)
because it was grabbing the first ad image.
• The mobile bottom toolbar now appears reliably on Android,
including phones with paired styluses or accessories that
were previously misdetected as desktop devices.

For Firefox Android users
• New bottom toolbar with three buttons: Recent sniffs, Find
cheaper alternatives, and Settings — always one tap away on
shopping pages, no more hunting for the extension icon.
• Toolbar fades to semi-transparent as you scroll down so it
stays out of your way, returns to full opacity on scroll up.
• Long-press any product image (or any element covering one)
to get a "Find similar product" menu. Useful when shops hide
the product image behind quick-view buttons or hover layers.
A "More" option falls back to Firefox's native menu (Save
image, etc.).

Polish
• "Find cheaper alternatives" on mobile now correctly includes
visual matches from AliExpress. Previously the product image
was getting lost when the page's image carousel re-rendered
between scan and click, so the search fell back to keywords
only.

Minor search by image tweaks.

Better image-hover search
• Hover-image searches now run through AI keyword extraction, so
Amazon and AliExpress queries are clean and relevant — no more
emoji-stuffed seller titles wrecking your results.
• The "Analyzing with AI" pre-loader now appears smoothly inside
the alternatives modal instead of as a separate corner pill.
• Each hovered image is saved as its own entry in "Recent sniffs"
(previously they overwrote each other).

Welcome flow on install
• A welcome tab now opens automatically on install, explaining
exactly what data Sniffit sends, where it goes, and what's never
collected. No scans run until you accept the disclosure.
• If you try a feature before accepting, the welcome tab reopens.

Mobile-friendly on Android
• Popup now fills the screen on Firefox for Android instead of
being stuck in a small column in the top-left corner.

Privacy & security hardening
• Removed unused "scripting" permission and the broad host
permission — Sniffit now requests only what it actually needs.
• Added an explicit Content Security Policy.
• Fixed a potential XSS issue in error-message rendering.
• Removed an unused field from the analyze payload — slightly less
data leaves your device per scan.

Clearer affiliate disclosure
• The alternatives panel now explicitly states that Amazon and
AliExpress links may earn Sniffit a small commission at no extra
cost to you.
