I am not sure what you mean by top left of dekstop, or by creating hidden files?
It's not possible to change the path (other than possibly the file name itself) with addons. - Hodnocení: 5 z 5od uživatele Uživatel Firefoxu - 15275508, před 6 letyWorks, but you MUST ENABLE THE SETTING "Run in Private Windows". Even if you're running it in a regular window.

Unfortunately it's not possible to set the destination with addons, only plugins (to my knowledge) have proper filesystem access.
