I had tried out almost every ad blocker out there just to stop seeing those pesky sponsored ads on the top of my Amazon product search results without success. Sorting by 'average customer reviews' invariably turns out all kinds of bizarre results, many of them even totally irrelevant to the search! Clearly, Amazon's corporate greed was dictating what was being displayed in search results. I tried sorting by 'lowest price' and 'newest arrivals' too with equally disastrous results. Frustrated, I tried out almost every 'ad blocker' I could find on Google searches for the term but none of them could stop the sponsored Amazon ads from appearing at the top for featured results. I had almost given up on it when I decided to do one more final search before calling it quits. I discovered that there were quite a few imposters out there with very similar sounding names designed to outwit those hunting for a good ad blocker, some had even managed to creep up the search results above all others! Confused, I decided to install 3 of the top ad blocker apps (as per search results) into my browsers and do a test search on Amazon by switching on each of them in isolation. The most irritating of all is Youtube. Imagine being interrupted by irrelevant advertisement videos that start playing without your permission every now and then as you are engrossed watching a training video, tutorial or movie, it's outrageous to say the least.
