how to bypass protected pages? change brightness in firefox homepage only for about: key dont work!

So, turns out my previous comment, which I have now deleted, was due to a false positive while troubleshooting Firefox to find what caused an ungodly high memory usage (>95% of RAM eaten). There are still some problems with Dark Reader, it won't remember the settings for some websites or won't turn itself on or off on some pages for some unknown reasons, but, overall, it does it's job in a good way.

Great add-on, very useful for using my computer at night. The only thing is that I can't seem to turn it off? I can adjust the settings and switch between Dark/Light modes, but when I try to use the "Off" button or the keyboard shortcut nothing happens. Several times, when I've been using my computer in the day and didn't want an extremely dark or desaturated screen on webpages, I've just uninstalled the extension and reinstalled it later. This is obviously very annoying, though.

Edit: Some sites have elements hidden while in Dark Mode. This has given me problems. I can edit the theme for such sites BUT - a suggestion: when editing/creating a theme, please make the default to only do so for the CURRENT SITE. "All sites" should be explicitly chosen by the user. Thank you!

This is a great add-on and I keep it ON by default. One important improvement for me would be this:
The default behavior for text fields (e.g., username/password fields) gives me yellow background with white lettering. It would be better to have either darker lettering or darker background. As it is, it is very hard (next to impossibile) to make out anything.

Dark Reader was working fine until recently, currently causes some tabs to lag significantly.

Me funcionó muy bien para el docs de google, lo he estado usando bastante estos últimos días y es un alibvo poder escribir sin dejarme los ojos. Tiene algunos ajustes bastante útiles para ver bien la página aunque los colores estén modificados
No funciona en todas las páginas, pero para lo que la mayoría lo quiere sirve.

It's good, but it lags the browser a lot. Especially if you're the kind of person to keep a lot of tabs open...

Dark Reader is great and convenient, but some web-pages' color scheme are somehow in conflict of this APP's. There are contents on pages that are hidden and would only reveal itself when the Dark Reader is turned off!
Set to a lighter background would help, sometimes.
May be more preset (color) schemes from Dark Reader would help to alleviate?

4.9.34 is the last version that works on my Firefox 56, so I'm keeping that one until a fix.
