Thanks for your job, it's the best weather extension, very simply to use.
But i have a suggestion for the new weather bar: In the last versions (2.4.8 in Firefox especially) with the addon bar, all weather informations (7 days with nights) was on one line.
Now with the new version and new bar (web extension), to display all info (days and nights), it takes 2 lines.
Would it be possible to make it possible to have the information on a single line as was the case before with the addon bar ? The font size seems to be larger and so the 7 days of forecasts take 2 lines instead of one before.
I now use Opera as a browser because I don't like what Firefox becomes (deletion of extensions, java, flash player, ...) and Operar is lighter. Is theren't on this browser an addon bar similar to the one we had on Firefox?
Sorry for my bad English, i use google translate^^ (thanks for your google translate extension in firefox, it's perfect !)

With the settings you can limit the display of days, nights, icons, labels
> Is theren't on this browser an addon bar similar to the one we had on Firefox?
I do not know.
The current version of Forecastfox uses the same code for Firefox and Chrome (Opera is also based on the Chrome engine)

Social Fixer loses icons when this add-on is in use and Forecastfox blocks my ability to sign into Lowe's web page. There maybe more conflicts but I am not aware of them.

With previous versions I could eliminate the radar/sattelite and enjoy everything else. After removing ForecastFox, my pages load smoothly. I've tried everything...but i guess there is no way to eliminate the radar GIF!

Saw a suggestion to try Forecast fox & I couldn't be happier. Love the look, layout & multitude of options, although I only changed two the location & Icons because I liked the defaults on all the others. Keep up the good work I love this add-on. :-)
- Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternenvon mike, vor 9 JahrenI like it, is handy and provides the needed info, but, if Firefox will close support for the XUL, is it possible to have this add-on on some toolbar at least? I don't like it injecting elements in almost any page I open. This is NOT securely because could be used to track user's activity, for instance.

Thanks for all your hard work. This extension has been great!
As Mozilla seems to be making future development/updates of really great extensions “precarious” I wanted to find out if this update will be problematic or breakdown in the future? In other words should I stay where I’m at?
I’m currently using ver. 2.48. Everything is working, including location. I’ve disabled auto updates because new FF compliance's have already broken a few extensions (or will cause breakdown in the future). The first example of this coming to mind is/was X-Notifier. The last two versions are FF compliant, but don’t function. They…. suck. Not the developers fault, he warned months ago this would happen with Moz changing policies and updates. Yet everyone initially screamed at him when it broke down. There was a temporarily a work around, rolling back 2 versions. This made everything work again, but then with another FF update, even the legacy version only partly works.
So In regards to your extension, would you recommend updating to the latest version, or stay with the previous one which I’m running?
My Machine; Window 7 64 bit, latest FF 64 bit version for windows.
One more issue, and if you don’t have time for this one no problem.
I’ve read that if users install FF 52 ESR (I’m not sure what it is and if it’s secure), all legacy versions will work. Wouldn’t using a legacy version of FF, as well as extension present a security risk?
This really sucks for FF developers and users. I really hate Chrome, it’s heavy on resources, super proprietary, nosy and intrusive as hell. I have no idea why Moz is killing the best part of FF, the extensions. Especially security and utilities extensions. The other stuff I could care less.
Also, if Moz is going to make life difficult to impossible (depending on which developer you’re talking to, and their extension) for developers, why don’t you all go to Opera? I’m betting a lot of people would follow.
It’s my second choice browser, and although it’s Chromium based, it’s lightweight and even has a VPN built in. But they have mostly lame apps.
You’re opinion/feedback on this whole Moz turning FF into Chrome and how to proceed would be appreciated!
Thanks for every thing!Antwort des Entwicklers

- Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternenvon Ronifae, vor 9 JahrenAlthough I was unhappy with the removal of the status bar option, I knew there was one more option I could try. So I moved the Forecastfox icon to the sidebar. It is still handy although not as visually accessible as having it laid out on bottom of my window.
Today I installed the latest iteration and now I have not only the sun icon in the sidebar but an umbrella at the lower right of my window.
I don't want the umbrella as the sidebar option gives me all I need with the same effort. How do I get rid of it???
ETA: Thanks, Olesandr. That did the trick. Upgrading my rating.Antwort des Entwicklers

Forecastfox - Settings - Weather forecast bar: Show? - No - Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon remmmie, vor 9 JahrenFirst THANK YOU for updating Forecastfox. But I don't care what Mozilla says about no more add-on bar after v57, someone will write code to add it back, and many of us simply won't upgrade to 57 until that's available again. If that means not updating FF until Nov 2018 or later, so be it.
ASide from this new vers not being in the add-on bar, I don't like the way it presents. The last version was PERFECT for my tastes... glad I archived a copy. Sorry, this one is not to my liking at all. :(Antwort des Entwicklers

It used to bring up my local radar. Please bring this one-click functionality back. I don't want to have to drill down to get to my local radar and weather forecast.

In case of printing you have the bar on your hardcopy.
2)
You should use a fixed height for the text, otherwise it gets bigger and bigger in case you change the zoom and hides the bottom part of your site.
3)
If you have an input part on your site, it´s hidden by forecastAntwort des Entwicklers

I totally agree to Shananiganeer and others who are missing the "One-glance-weather" in the statusbar or any other bar. I used to place it in the menubar.
Whithout this function it is useless for me and I have to uninstall it because of the monstrous popups and the need to push the mouse to its place.
PLEASE rebuild our addonbar functionality.Antwort des Entwicklers
geschrieben am vor 9 JahrenThe statusbar/addonbar is missing in new versions of Firefox.
The current version of Forecastfox is the version for the new API: WebExtensions (supported Firefox and Google Chrome)
WebExtensions not supported "statusbar/addonbar" from xul-addons like as "Addon-bar restored", "Status-4-ever" , etc
These are the inevitable changes in Firefox - all Xul-addons is die in Firefox 57 (November 2017)

The point is, the current display of the forecast is intrusive and obscures the content of some sites. And that is ignoring the very annoying default display that pops up if my mouse goes over the icon. If there is truly no way to tuck everything away neatly in a toolbar, then the addon has lost all value for me and there is no coming back. I realize that this isn't your fault per se, but that doesn't excuse the poor design choices made to circumvent it.
FYI: I am currently using an older version of this addon with the Pale Moon browser.
EDIT: If I hide the forecast bar, I might as well just bookmark a weather site and uninstall the addon anyway... Please don't give bad suggestions to legitimate problems.Antwort des Entwicklers

The dev replied and explained the decision to move away from the old version of the addon. Additionally the new version now has the extended forecast when you click on it, which is great. I really like where it is going, thanks for the hard work!
- Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternenvon Firefox-Benutzer 13091063, vor 9 JahrenIt is OK for now, but the radar should be displayed in native resolution. It looks terrible now.
Of course, you should resize/rearrange the other divs to keep everything within the 800x600 no-scrollbar limit.
Also, when the addon updates, it resets all the location to NY. I relied on your addon and the weather/temperature indicated had nothing to do with the reality of my location :)
Another potential improvement: currently there is no way to distinguish between weather alerts and connection failed, both display the temperature in red. You may consider using a different shape or different color altogether.

- Bewertet mit 2 von 5 Sternenvon CornCobMan, vor 9 JahrenEver since it updated to 4.1, every tab has a little hovering button in the bottom right corner that expands into a 7 day forecast. This would be fine if you could actually hide the button or if it didn't print out when you print out a page.

http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=14748275#p14748275 - Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon GaryOB, vor 9 JahrenIt didn't disappear, it just turned into a tiny icon on the URL bar (everything bar?) with the temperature in a bright, unreadable yellow, or was it green?, that hid the icon. I discovered that was it, have to click the icon, no more display on the add-on bar (using CTR for years), had to revert to version 2.4.8 to get it back. I hope version 4.1 provides the functionality and options I am used to, if I'm still using FireFox in November. Mozilla just keeps on taking away more options with a lot of the updates, I'm thinking of going back to Seamonkey. Maybe try PaleMoon, if it will download correctly this time. Firefox is turning into Chrome and I don't like Chrome.
