What's new

In-page translation — Translate selected text without leaving the page. Select a word or phrase and use the translate icon that appears, or have the translation popup open right away. You can also click the extension icon in the toolbar to type or paste text and see the translation in the popup. Choose your preferred behavior (icon, immediate popup, or toolbar only) in Extension options.

Extension options — Set your primary (target) language for all translations and choose when the in-page popup appears: show icon to click, show popup immediately, or turn it off and use only the toolbar popup.

Toolbar popup — Enter or paste text and click Translate to see the result in the popup. If you had text selected when you opened the popup, it is translated automatically.

Localization — The extension UI (options page, popup labels) is available in many languages and follows your browser language when a translation exists.

What's changed

Before (earlier versions): Only the context menu — right-click selected text and choose "Google Translate" to open Google Translate in a new tab.

Now: The context menu is still there. In addition, you get in-page translation (icon or popup) and a toolbar popup so you can translate without opening a new tab.
