Hello, I'm really sorry but Firefox now blocks all links to local files in any page (not just in my add-on) for a security reasons. In Chrome is the situation same, although in there user can enable it for specific add-on. I hope Firefox will choose similar approach so that people can enable files access for specific add-on. But I have no idea when this can be done...
