If a Medium article is detected as premium content, the extension redirects the user to a free proxy site (https://freedium.cfd/), appending the original Medium article URL to the end of the new URL.

It works on all medium articles even if the domain doesn't contain medium.com

The extension operates automatically when a user navigates to a Medium article, checking the content and handling redirection as necessary.
