Paste Redactor redacts Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from your clipboard before you paste into any website. THIS WORKS 100% ON YOUR OWN DEVICES. When we copy and paste text across different sites, we sometimes unintentionally share our own or other people's personal data with third parties. Paste Redactor automatically finds PII and replaces it with safe placeholders, saving you from manually reviewing and sanitizing every paste. All text analysis is performed 100% locally on your device using an on-device AI model. We never see what you are redacting or your clipboard contents.

How It Works
Enable auto-redact and press Ctrl+V, or right-click any text field and select "Redact Paste". Our local AI scans your clipboard, detects sensitive information, and inserts safe placeholders before the text ever reaches the page. The entire process happens on your machine, no internet connection is required for redaction, so your original clipboard contents are never transmitted anywhere.

PII Types
The application detects and redacts 55 categories of sensitive information such as names, dates of birth, emails, phone numbers, and more. Choose which categories to enable or disable through the extension menu.

Local Processing
All text analysis is performed locally on your device using an on-device AI model. No clipboard content, telemetry, or usage data is transmitted to any external server. An internet connection is only used to verify premium subscription status or load the upgrade page.

Paste Redactor is designed to assist with privacy hygiene by automatically redacting common PII patterns. It is a helpful assistant, not a guarantee of complete protection. The AI-based detector is not 100% accurate: it will sometimes miss actual PII and falsely flag non-sensitive text. We will continue to improve the accuracy of our models. Users should always review pasted text before sharing.

🔐 PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED
• Storage: Used only to save your PII preferences and settings locally.
• Context Menus: Adds the "Redact Paste" option to your right-click menu.
• All URLs: Required to intercept paste events and insert redacted text into any text field.
• Offscreen: Required to run multi-threaded ONNX WASM for faster PII redaction on multi-core CPUs when WebGPU is unavailable. Service workers cannot spawn Web Workers, so this hidden document hosts the inference engine.

We never use these permissions to collect data, monitor inputs, or track your browsing.
