The Rate Code extension collects the following user data:

• GitHub username — to associate ratings with individual users.
• Email address — provided manually upon first use to send notifications for rating assignments.
• Commit and task ratings — stored for research and analysis purposes.

This data is essential for the functionality of the extension and is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.



2. How We Use the Data

We use the collected data for:

• Displaying and managing your personal rating history.
• Associating your ratings with your user profile.
• Enabling feedback mechanisms and improving the rating experience.

3. Data Storage

All data is securely stored on university infrastructure hosted at the University of Zurich (codax.ifi.uzh.ch). Only authorized project members have access to this data.

We do not store any sensitive information in the browser itself other than:

• Your GitHub username (locally via browser extension storage).
• Your email (temporarily during session initiation).

4. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transfer your personal data to third parties under any circumstances.



5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to your stored data.
• Request data deletion or correction.
• Withdraw consent for data use at any time.
