True Cost does not collect, store, transmit, or share any user data.

The only data stored is your local configuration (hourly wage, currency, display preferences), saved using the browser's built-in storage.sync API. This data stays on your device and is never sent to any third party.

True Cost makes zero network requests, uses zero analytics, and includes zero third-party scripts.

Permissions explained:
- storage: to save your wage and preferences locally
- activeTab: to detect prices on the page you're viewing
- host permissions (<all_urls>): to run on any shopping website

True Cost uses no third-party services, APIs, or servers. The extension runs entirely within your browser. The source code is fully open for inspection.
