Does a lot more than just block ads. Try exploring the options, and learn what they do. Several important ones are turned off by default for the sake of compatibility.

uBlock Origin is fantastic! It has a small footprint and I never see ads anywhere! Not even on YouTube! I've been using this add-on for several years and plan to continue using it.
