Broom itself does not collect any data about you; Your settings and scrape
configs are stored locally on this device only. However, services that Broom
uses (Gumroad, Sentry) may collect technical data as part of Brooms
interactions with them.
When a license key is provided, Broom periodically makes a request to
Gumroad, the servicer of Brooms license keys, to validate it.
During this request, some technical data about your
browser and license key may be captured by Gumroad in the form of Cookies,
Log files and details about your transaction. This interaction is
required to allow Broom to validate the license key and can not be
deactivated.
Sentry is used to help identify and fix bugs. When a crash or error
happens, Sentry will collect some basic information about your browser,
along with the error and it's stacktrace and send that data back to the
Sentry servers, which may collect additional technical data. While it's
beneficial for Broom to have this information, we understand that
some users are not comfortable with that data being sent, so you may
choose to disable this reporting if you wish.
