ClankShield ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. ClankShield is a browser extension that helps users detect scrapers, AI bots, and data collectors while browsing the web.

Data Collection

ClankShield collects and stores the following locally on your device only:

User preferences: Toggle states, whitelisted sites, and extension settings are stored in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device.
Audit log: A local SHA-256 hash-chained log of page visits, detected trackers, and form interactions is stored on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.
No personal data: ClankShield does not collect, store, or transmit your name, email address, browsing history, location, IP address, or any other personally identifiable information.
No data sold or shared: We do not sell, transfer, or share any user data with third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.
Third-Party Services

ClankShield may connect to a cloud proxy service (configured by the user) for optional remote logging. This is user-initiated and opt-in. No data is transmitted to ClankShield's servers by default.

Stripe Payments

If you purchase a ClankShield subscription, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card or financial information. Please review Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
