DocuMate ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data in the DocuMate Chrome Extension.

1. Data Collection
   We do not collect personal identification information (such as names or email addresses).
   We process the following data solely to provide the extension's functionality:
   Document Content: Text from your Google Docs is sent to our backend (Vercel) only when you explicitly trigger features like Grading, Humanizing, or Citation generation.
   API Keys: If you provide custom API keys, they are stored locally on your device via Chrome Storage and are never saved to our servers. They are cleared upon reloading.
2. Data Usage
   Text data is processed by AI models (Google Gemini/Groq) to generate responses.
   We do not sell, trade, or rent user data to third parties.
   Data is not used for creditworthiness or lending purposes.
3. Data Storage
   User preferences are stored locally on your browser using Chrome's Storage API.
   Custom API Keys are cleared upon reloading the page.
   We do not maintain a database of user documents.

   We utilize the following third-party services for processing:
   Vercel (Hosting)
   Google Gemini API (AI Processing)
   Google Search API (Citation Searching)
   Groq API (AI Processing)
