by akiha, 7 years agoFor those having issues with Firefox add-ons not working properly at this time type (this temporary measure) in the address bar "about:debugging" this will open up the window for you to manually add the add-on yourself via "Load Temporary Add-on" button. Make sure when you go on the Firefox official add-on page to NOT click on it as you'd normally do but to right-click > "Save Link As" > It should save the XPI file to your computer > Now simply go back to the window Debug tab and install it yourself until Firefox fixes the issue and also note unless you have to don't close the browser as you may have to redo the steps above.
For those who want to use your already installed add-on if it's in the default go to the following folder, C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[name].default\extensions and look for the .xpi files. The [name] is whatever the profile folder is named after (usually its random) so copy/paste up to "Profiles". Share this to any other Firefox user having the same issue.
Linux users: /home/[yourusername]/.mozilla/firefox/[name].default
First instance of the [] replace it with first your user name and the 2nd instance may be random so you will have to find out what the name is. If further issues see this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox#Linux
Also the above link is useful for MAC users.
Caution! The new Firefox temp fix may be a chance for Mozilla to gather telemetry. If this is an issue with you stick to the above method.
Not sure why but on Firefox this plugin sometimes accumulates an increase of RAM after a while. Doesn't happen often but this was the culprit when I used it together with Ghostery. So would had to close/open Firefox to get rid of it but besides that it does the job severely well.

- Rated 1 out of 5by ThyBountyHunter, 8 days agoI wish there was a Zero rating, I get a pop up on Edge, saying "We have blocked 5,245,388 ads for you!", here are what is wrong with that.
1. only tried this add on about a year ago and I took it off, so why is it asking me for money?
2. Why is it popping up on edge...I never put an add on there.
3. I never used edge so how can it stop 5,245,388 ads for me when I never used the browser for more than 10 minutes at most, ever.
This add on is a scam, this add on is dangerous.Developer response
posted 7 days agoFor non-Premium users, our payment page displays when we update the extension to keep you informed on changes we've made and as a reminder to consider upgrading to Premium. There is no obligation to upgrade and you can dismiss the page by clicking the "x" on the browser tab. You can also dismiss this page by going to the Advanced tab on your ABP settings and unchecking the box next to "Allow Adblock Plus to show occasional promotional messages." - Rated 4 out of 5by Giuseppe, 9 days agoADBlock mi ha liberato dalla pubblicità che rendeva fastidioso e quasi impossibile navigare
- Rated 5 out of 5by MasterSuperman, 20 days agoI LOVE this extension but for the lase week it has slowed my computer to a CRAWL. I know it is this extension because I turned off all extensions and added them back one at a time. I hope you can pinpoint the problem and fix it quick because I would hate to lose this ad blocker!
