by ForeFix, 7 years agoAfter a lot of tests of other similar extensions, I find this one particularly well done, that's why i'm leaving this review. I love that it handles clicked links (different color once visited), contrarily to most of the other similar addons. I only found one doing this, and it's not open source, with less options. Here, you can choose several methods of darkening, and apply them to different part of the same website or domain (if the global setting breaks only some pages), by URL segments (domain, website, page, subpages, etc). I've not found this depth of settings in other addons. The customization of colors for different elements is easy and when some could say it's not as "fancy" as other addons, the interface is very clear and intuitive. And I also like that it is open source.
Developer, really well done. Your extension is the closest to perfection for what it does, imo.
Could you check if there is a way to darken the menu of firefox (left-click one, and when opening a folder of favorites in the favorites bar)? I'm afraid it's a limitation in Firefox Quantum, if you can't do anything about it, i totally understand. You have my 5 stars anyway :)
Edit: thanks for the reply and advice! I already have the dark themes enabled, I'll have to wait until Mozilla expand it to these areas of their browser.
Edit 2: oh, high contrast. Brutal, but indeed it works. Thank you for the tip! ;)

It's not possible to do this from an add-on. But I recommend you to 1) set Firefox theme to "Dark", 2) select dark theme in your OS (Windows: left Shift + left Alt + Print Screen, Linux: pick your favorite dark GTK 3 theme, for example, Adwaita Dark, macOS: you have to wait for Mojave).
UPD: the rest is rendered by your OS. So, see above.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19079008, 4 months agoAmazing app, so the reason i use the app is because on certain pages applications like dark reader or roll20 does not work in a way that will not destroy the entire page if there was a way to add a option to instead work as a white list / or domains , it would be amazing, like a 'off in x site' but backwards

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12585479, 6 months agoДействительно полезное расширение.
- Rated 3 out of 5by speeddefrost, 6 months agoI've used this for a while and put up with one very annoying problem: it makes no exceptions for its styling and ends up inverting embedded videos (and similar types of page elements). If this was fixed I'd probably continue using it but I can't tolerate it anymore so I'm sticking to Dark Reader.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15091698, 7 months agoExcellent but it would be great to have a brightness adjustment. Besides as others reported it doesn't work in some sites. i.e. IMDB

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18912983, 7 months agoIt could be a coincidence, but most of the sites I frequent had defects with this extension, ranging from annoyances to no-nos like changing the background of QR codes to dark, making them unreadable.
