by DarseZ, 8 years agoHello, love this add-on!
Would you be able to remove the requirement to have "Access to all data on all websites"?
It doesn't seem that you would need to require this, just the URL only...please correct me if I'm incorrect on this assumption.
Developers may say they don't use any form/login/password data but there's no way for the end user to know. Many of the revised 57+ add-ons have this blanket permission and in many cases it doesn't seem necessary...in my uneducated opinion, of course. I'm open to being schooled.
Thank you and best wishes!

posted 8 years agoHappy to address this. Honestly, I'm not sure why Firefox gives that rather scary warning. It could be because LB uses a content script to display the countdown timer and warning message within the tab, over the web page. (Content scripts can, in principle, access all data on the web pages you view.) It could be because LB requests 'tabs' permission, so it can intermittently check whether block conditions are met for all open tabs, not just the active tab. I'll look into it. In any event, all the source code is publicly available on GitHub, so you can check that LB isn't doing anything untoward!

Really love the option to close the tab of a blocked site before it can even load, that has definitely stopped me in my tracks from doomscrolling many times. - Rated 5 out of 5by b12o, 16 days ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by G. O'Neill, 19 days agoInfuriatingly excellent. I set a password for the settings, put the password on a thumb drive, and hid it, and I've never been able to cheat my restrictions. Leechblock has helped me get my life back in so many ways. I have a love/hate relationship with it because it's been so helpful for me, but I still find I want my sites!! Ah!! Love it so much. Five stars.

- Rated 5 out of 5by amber V, a month agoAn absolutely vital tool for the modern human. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that my life would be significantly worse in all regards without these features. This made combating my addictions tractable. Thank you.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Someone, a month agoBrilliant addon just wish there was an option to block settings (at least for a bit) but besides that its pretty complete, having minimal times makes you think about every time you want to allow access to an app, it becomes a decision not a habit so you actually have to think about how you spend your time.

posted a month agoThanks for the review. There are options to block settings. Look under "Access Control" in the General Options and also under "Advanced Options" for individual block sets. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19720449, a month ago
