1. core functionality & data

the core functionality of a11y inspector—scanning webpages for accessibility issues—is performed entirely on your local machine (client-side). the extension analyzes the content of the active webpage but does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or content from the pages you scan. all scan results are stored locally in your browser's storage and are not sent to our servers.

1. anonymous usage statistics (telemetry)

to help us improve the extension, we offer an optional feature to send anonymous usage data. this feature is enabled by default but can be disabled at any time in the extension's settings page.

the anonymous data we collect includes:

generic usage events (e.g., a scan was performed, a report was exported).

performance data and error logs to help us identify and fix bugs.

this data is completely anonymous and cannot be used to identify you or the websites you visit. we do not collect ip addresses, user identifiers, or any personal information as part of our telemetry.
