Bitwarden Password Manager by Bitwarden Inc.

by Firefox user 18747690, 5 months agoI used to consider this a 5-star product. The latest update has slowed response time, complicated the interface, and drastically reduced the number of logins that successfully autofill. The dropdown now takes up more screen space for no clear reason. The structure for use has been needlessly altered. After being trained by years of use to click on an entry to fill the login fields, that same action now opens the edit screen. It was a great product that did not need "improving". I will continue to use it, but it is no longer the fast, intuitive tool that it was. After more days of fighting with it, I am downgrading my rating. I am sick of "improvements" that drastically reduce product usability.
Response to the developer response since I cannot email:
Like most of the other commenters I have seen in blogs and other discussions, I have tried that. It does NOT address most of the glaring deficiencies of your "upgrade".
You had a quick, effective product. You have changed the basic user structure, a slap in the face of long-time users, and the new format is MORE difficult to use:
- small fill button in LARGE edit field (how often do you think a user needs to EDIT, rather than FILL a login screen?)
- the changed format above exactly opposite of the muscle memory trained by years as a user of your product
- loading ALL vault items instead of matching only (slower load and why do you think us users used folders and search???)
- larger screen footprint (your app is NOT my primary focus on the screen - it is a TOOL to support what is displayed on the rest of the screen)
It's simple. Respect your users or lose them.
I have moved back to an older version of Bitwarden which I will use until/unless I find another password manager. If you force me to upgrade, I will leave immediately.

posted 4 months agoHi. Mare sure you are on version 2024.12.4 or above, then check under Bitwarden Settings > Autofill > "Click items to autofill on Vault view" and Bitwarden Settings > Appearance > "Show quick copy actions on Vault" if you want to restore previous functionality that you may prefer.

- Too bad there isn't a zero rating. I can't believe anyone likes this turd. There is no help that tells you what exactly bitwarden can and cannot do, only useless marketing hype. Will it comb my records and pick up all my passwords? Or do I have to enter them one at a time? Or does it automatically record only future passwords? I have one day to file all my passwords and there are over a hundredd of them. What's this 'My Vault thing'? A file folder somewhere? Where? What exactly does it store? Have I just wasted 45 mins. trying to get this turkey to work?
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 18620115, 2 days agoEverything has been perfect for years, but now they decided to redesign the plugin and basic functionality like typing, clicking, viewing and editing is broken. Just roll it back to last year's version, this redesign was a mistake.

This has been a really great extension with positive changes since I installed it and is very full featured compared to other password managers I have used. - Rated 4 out of 5by koca, 6 days agoUsed to be really very good when I first added it, but now not so good - autofill can take forever(not literally), extension times out when I've told it to never do that. Irritating rather than catastrophic

- Rated 5 out of 5by Nauta Caeli, 8 days agoReliable, secure, and easy to use. Bitwarden keeps all my passwords and sensitive info safely accessible across devices. A must-have for managing credentials with confidence.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Piomio, 10 days agoExcellent, too bad the cursor does not focus in the search field as in previous versions.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Moleleki, 10 days agoIt's good to see Bitwarden deliver on their promise in the description: Easily manage, store, secure, and share passwords across unlimited devices :-)
To get 5 stars I would like the cursor to be in the search field right after the click on the extension icon. As it is now, I have to click a second time before I can start typing.
If I remember correctly this used to be different in previous versions. - Rated 1 out of 5by pozzeur, 11 days ago
