Cisco Webex Extension by Cisco WebEx

This will open a desktop app for you after clicking a link. That is it. This doesn't change the way WebEx in the browser functions (tiling still isn't enabled as the screenshot make it appear, etc.) WebEx is still fairly unusable for Linux users, or Mac/Windows users who don't feel comfortable downloading the WebEx client.
The cost:
Webex can see all of your information on any website, ever. They can read your information when you access your bank accounts. They can read your information when you fill out your tax information. They can read anything, at anytime, and store it how they please.
My take: I don't think this is worth it.

The Extension does not activate the downloading and installing the app to join the meeting. I've been using Zoom/Webex for years on my PC work computer and my personal Mac. Today, 2/10/25 I tried to sign into a Massachusetts Unemployment training (which I've attended 5 years ago using Webex). But this Cisco Webex Extension is not downloading for me to install and join the meeting. It has worked in the past. So today's experience and last week's experience when Firefox prevented me from from screen-sharing on Zoom (which failed because the add-on extension did not activate) has made me realize I need to use Google-Chrome like most corporations and organizations do. Your IT team needs to do better user-testing, QA and provide user-friendly next steps for all of the Firefox blocking.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Frank, 3 years agoBesides the extension, you have to run the Cisco_WebEx_Add-On.exe they download for you. They should explicitly say that the extension doesn't work by itself. It needs the extension to function.
