Upgraded to the pro desktop version which works better than I expected. Am able to select the download quality as well as the video codec. The PRO desktop app is definitely worth the purchase.

I can confirm that it works and does what it proclaims.

Extension for YouTube downloads in 720p formats is not working/ showing in the pop-up.

I have tried all YouTube video/mp3 downloader plugins. This is by far the best out there hands down.

People need to stop complaining and support the developer! Due to the limitation from YouTube, he has to develop a way around it. You want a good app, pay for it. You get what you paid for. I donated to this twice and it's worth every penny.
