- Rated 5 out of 5by PMiles, 3 days agoGreat app!!! Just unlocked the secrets after having it for a year. Definitely beats looking through developer tools, source code, and page info. Its even finding the larger images where i normally have to resize my browser to try and find the full size image.
I wonder if a little icon "up-scale image/s" would be helpful. I'm not always thinking to hit the key to enlarge things, and always active "hover" is too aggressive for general browsing.
I little tag either like the ones used by apps to rate or mark links as safe, or oh my, maybe like the floating Grammarly icon.
The first gives a coded (Yea/Nea) icon next to various elements with links.
The latter gives a floating red or blue ring around a number of things to improve... for you, it could be a number of images available to up-size. (Not sure if the latter needs an active element). But then, the first might only truly work on the search engines and is coded specifically knowing the Elements for the popular search engines. But then, if you can float the full image on hover, you should be able to hover an icon.Developer response
posted 2 days agoThis is a great idea, thanks for suggesting!
I've tracked the former suggestion here: https://github.com/qsniyg/maxurl/issues/1570 . Edit: Implemented, it'll be in a future release.
The latter (if I understand correctly) can be done through:
- Buttons -> Highlight Images -> Automatically highlight images -> Always (or Hover)
- ^ -> ^ -> Only explicitly supported images -> Yes.
You can change the highlight ring color through the Highlight CSS style (e.g. outline: 2px solid #77f; border-radius: 5px ). Note that this currently will not work for all images, such as images that are displayed as a div+background-image style. - Rated 5 out of 5by elsenfox, a month ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by girlygirl, a month agohad for 1 year or more i think. i love this extension, it's the only of it's kind that finds the maximum resolution of an online image. even for websites that make it hard to get the highest resolution image this app never disappoints me. i used to use it on Chrome but they banned it so now i just use it on FireFox and Microsoft Edge. hope they never get rid of it.

Regarding Chrome, I haven't updated the (sideloaded) extension to Manifest V3 yet, which is why it can't be installed under newer versions of Chrome. I'm not sure if it's possible or not without reducing its featureset, but it's something I'll look into in the future.
In the meantime, if you do still want to use it with Chrome browsers, you can still use it as a userscript (using something like Tampermonkey or ScriptCat), which has most of the functionality of the addon. - Rated 5 out of 5by safeAnonym, a month ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by HellPhantom, 2 months agoMy Goal is to get larger and better images of what I already have/see.
Now that Google reverse image lookup is no more this add-on is the best. I use it first to find larger/Better image. Even when it fails I can then use "Search by image" add-on, on what it did find to either search Google lens or TinyEye and about 10 other reverse lookup engines. Its not as convenient as google reverse lookup add-on I had but I believe I might actually be getting to what I want faster now. Not in steps but in results found. 60+% of time I find it in first step not needing "Search by image" add-on. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14571061, 2 months ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Guimauve, 2 months agoHello, I just discovered this extension and I find it much better than Imagus. Thank you to the developer! However, I have a problem with Google Images: IMU 2025.12.0 works fine with the first 100 thumbnails on the page, but beyond that, IMU no longer displays the image in full size, but only the thumbnails.

posted 2 months agoGoogle Images recently updated, and the previous technique to find the original images past 100 (the preloaded amount) doesn't work anymore. I've implemented a fix for the userscript version, but unfortunately getting this to work on the extension version is a bit trickier, and might not land in the next release (it needs to intercept HTTP calls, which is definitely my least favorite approach towards supporting a website).
I've tracked the feature here: https://github.com/qsniyg/maxurl/issues/1533 . Note that once it's implemented, you will need to enable "Rules intercepting HTTP requests" (under the Rules tab). It's disabled by default because it carries a fingerprinting risk. - Rated 5 out of 5by Siegfried Witting, 2 months agoGreat stuff, Found this thing using Grok of all things lol as was looking for a way to download images off Deviant art in higher quality and it delivers!
