Malwarebytes Browser Guard by Malwarebytes

by AMCarter3, 2 years agoI installed Malwarebytes Browser Guard on Firefox and Safari many months ago. It appears to work well in Firefox. However, in Safari the question is... how do I update it to the current version? There are 4 Browser Guard extensions added to Safari Settings. All 4 are ver 2.0.1, yet the App Store indicates the latest version released 10/25/23 is ver 2.1... and after opening it, it claims the new version is installed and active. However, it was NOT installed. The version in my Applications folder is still ver 2.0.1. This is very confusing.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13888099, 4 days agoIt's handy sometimes, but lately it's been far more annoying than helpful. It does this thing to prevent clipboard hijacking where it gives a popup whenever I copy something, and then prepends "[SUSPICIOUS CONTENT]" to the start of the clipboard, and I do a lot of copy-pasting; so the only thing hijacking my clipboard is this extension.
I removed its clipboard permission to stop this, and now once or twice a day it will hijack my browsing session (usually in the middle of watching a video) to open a new tab and ask for permission back.Developer response
posted 4 days agoThat is indeed annoying, we are aware of the bug and are working on a fix (it shouldn't be asked again like that). - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16215098, 5 days ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18971740, a month agomb browser guard after latest update, does not keep saving the 3 tabs (ads, malware and scams) in the tab current website..uninstall or clear cache doesn't fix it. Except this, it doesn't recognize my premium subscription (device security is installed but it says upgrade to premium)

- Rated 3 out of 5by Greenstack, 2 months agoI love the privacy and security options it gives, but any site that uses ReCaptcha fails to let me log in because the plugin disables and blocks it, so I need to disable the ads/trackers setting for those sites.
