Proxy Switch is designed from the ground up with your privacy as its highest priority. Our philosophy is simple: We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data or browsing activity. Your data is your own, period.

The extension is engineered to be a completely client-side tool. All processing occurs locally, on the fly, within your browser.

Information We DO NOT Collect

To be perfectly clear, we DO NOT collect, log, or have access to any of the following:

• Your IP address or location.
• Your browsing history (the websites you visit).
• The content of your network traffic or any data you send or receive.
• DNS requests.
• Any personal information of any kind.

Our extension contains no third-party trackers, analytics, or advertising scripts. We do not require you to create an account to use Proxy Switch.

Information We DO Store (Only On Your Computer)

For the extension to function, it needs to save the proxy profiles and configuration rules that you create.

• What is stored: The proxy server details (address, port, username/password) and the switching rules you define.
• Where it is stored: This data is stored exclusively on your local computer using the browser's standard, secure extension storage API (browser.storage.local).
• How it is used: This data is only used by the extension locally to configure your browser's proxy settings according to your rules.

This configuration data never leaves your computer and is never transmitted to us or any third party. The "Import & Export" feature also runs entirely locally, allowing you to save your configuration to a file on your own computer.

How We Process Your Network Requests

Proxy Switch works "on the fly" inside your browser to manage proxy settings.

When a proxy profile is active, the extension uses the browser's native proxy API to instruct the browser to route your network traffic through the proxy server you have configured.

The extension acts as a local "switchboard operator," not a spy. It tells your browser where to send traffic, but it does not read, modify, log, or store the content of that traffic. The connection between your browser and your proxy server is direct.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in an update to the extension and will be visible on our website. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
