Story Export Studio for Wattpad runs locally in the browser and is designed to export Wattpad stories or chapters selected by the user.

Data handled

The extension can read Wattpad pages that the user opens or submits in the popup. It extracts story metadata, chapter text, chapter image URLs, and cover URLs needed to create TXT, PDF, and EPUB files. It may also call the Wattpad API endpoint (apiv2/storytext) to retrieve chapter content.

Storage

The extension stores extraction settings, the latest extracted story data, and a local history in chrome.storage.local / browser local extension storage. This data stays on the user's device unless the user exports it.

Network

The extension only requests Wattpad pages and Wattpad-hosted images needed for extraction and EPUB creation. It does not send extracted content, browsing history, or personal information to any third-party server controlled by the extension developer.

Downloads

Exported files are saved through the browser downloads API at the user's request.

Data sale or sharing

The extension does not sell, share, or transfer user data.

User control

Users can clear the current extracted story and history from the popup. Users can also remove all extension data by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension storage in the browser.

Third-party links

The extension includes optional donation buttons that open external links to Ko-fi and PayPal in the user's browser. No data is transmitted to these services. The donation links are configured by the developer and do not track or collect user information.
