by Firefox user 16516869, 5 years agoThank you for the extension, you are my savior.
I got some suggestion that would love to propose, hope you can respond:
Bring back how a video page look like, basically like this, hope it helps:

Plus, the video list in the up-next's right column, it just keep displaying endlessly number of suggested videos, here's my idea: reduce them into limited number, just like Old Layout:

It would be awesome if you also can add the Youtube's site footer from Old Layout too as well:

posted 5 years agoAppreciate the suggestions! Going over the screens from top to bottom:
1. I'll try it. I was already planning on restoring the old likes bar layout and I'll also see what can be done about other stuff to get as close to the old layout as possible. No promises though. Working with these elements often proves to be troublesome considering multiple resolutions and resizing. But seems doable!
2/3. I can try to work around it by inserting some long blank element to avoid loading more, just like with comments scrolling option.
4. I wouldn't hope for much here. All the pages got infinite scrolling so the footer would have to be always fixed to the bottom of the page which would interfere with comments or videos below it and also there is no way (I guess) to get to the old layout to compare what each footer button did in order to replicate it properly. BUT maybe I could add language and country settings to the sidebar on the main page.
I got some stuff to fix first before I get to it so don't expect it to happen overnight, thanks!

- Rated 1 out of 5by Bery_CZ, 5 days agoCant change terrible large videoplayer UI back to old one. Only thing I downloaded it for.
- Rated 4 out of 5by callum, 6 days agoVery good extension that makes the UI much easier to wrangle, but it sometimes disables the ability to pop out the video from the tab which is very annoying. Otherwise really good product.
(If I'm just missing a setting then I am really sorry) - Rated 5 out of 5by killjoyyzz, 7 days ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Anon, 10 days agoGreat add-on, removes much of the ugliness that the "modern" UI tries to force on you.
If I could make a request, could you add the option to hide the "includes paid promotion" pop-up that appears when you hover over certain thumbnails? With the smaller thumbnails that this add-on gives you, it makes it very easy to accidentally click that pop-up instead of the video when you want to watch something. - Rated 5 out of 5by Vin, 11 days ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by StewCrimps, 14 days agoHated so much the new icons that I actually wanted to use this type of extension. YouTube is getting trashier by the year.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Max, 14 days agoThis add-on would be good... if it actually would modify the video loader. The new video loader with huge buttons looks weird with the old YouTube UI. Other than, everything else seems to work fine.
- Rated 3 out of 5by CodeIcannot, 23 days agoThis addon modifies a lot of things on Youtube's pages, but I only consider one of those changes a good thing. The others are odd, or even bad.
First the positive one: it allows you to view more thumbnails on the mainpage. That's great!
However, along with that singular positive thing, comes a lot of questionable ones. For example, the default settings make everything about the page layouts look older, less modern, even ugly. Why is that? And even though you can disable some of these changes, there are things that it messes up permanently. Like the latest Youtube posts. They get truncated to just a few words each, and there is no option to change that behaviour. Also, playlist thumbnails are unaffected (= remain huge) despite everything else shrinking. The layouts just become erratic and mismatched.
I would not recommend this addon. If you just want to see more video thumbnails on Youtube's main page, there are better ways to achieve that. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19483157, 24 days agoAn extremely useful addition to the youtube experience, although I really wish you could change the video player itself with it.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Marco, 2 months agoNot only gave me the possibility of going back to a more usable, nostalgic and overall better looking UI but surprisingly also made youtube to work better and load faster in most instances - in the process making even more evident how much of a bad job the people behind YT are doing with all the bloat "updates" and terrible design choices. Great, great add-on

- Rated 3 out of 5by daniel7692, 3 months agoThe community posts have cyclinder boxes (not sqaure) and the icon that shows someone (or a channel) that there live is circular, 5 stars to fix ;)
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14848614, 3 months agoI understand that the latest update requires permission to be able to export the configuration files, but I beg you, make it optional. Until then I will be forced, for safety reasons, to remove the addon. It is a shame because I really loved this extension.
edit:
Thank you for your quick response and understanding. Reverting back to 5 stars. Thanks for making YouTube usable again.Developer response
posted 3 months agoI'm remaking that part to be optional or not required at all. Update soon!
While it's being reworked I've reverted the update so v3.8.4 is the newest available. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16412083, 3 months ago
