PordaAI: Blur Haram in Images & Videos by Iqra Wave

PordaAI is an AI-powered Haram Object Blurring technology designed to help Muslims create a safer and more halal digital environment.

It uses a custom-trained machine learning model to detect and blur unwanted haram and NSFW objects in images and videos. The extension is designed to work efficiently on low-resource devices while keeping your data private.

OPTIMAL HALAL VISION

PordaAI aims to blur unwanted objects while preserving as much of the surrounding content as possible.

For example, text, subtitles and other useful parts of an image or video can remain visible while the detected object is covered.

LIMITATIONS

PordaAI is still actively being improved and has some limitations:

• We initially focused on detecting common objects. More complex or unusual content may not always be detected accurately.
• Image detection generally performs better than video detection. Video detection may not detect every frame perfectly.
• Some websites may use unusual rendering techniques that prevent the extension from working correctly.
• Performance may vary depending on your device, browser and website.
• Very old or low-powered devices may experience slower processing.
• Detection accuracy depends on the selected accuracy setting.

We are continuously improving the detection model, performance and website compatibility through regular updates.

RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS

Computer: 8 GB RAM recommended
Android: 4 GB RAM recommended

For Android, a browser that supports Firefox extensions may be required depending on your device and browser.

HOW TO USE

1. Install PordaAI and pin it to your browser toolbar.
2. Open the PordaAI extension.
3. Configure your preferred image and video detection settings.
4. Click Save to apply your settings.
5. You can enable or disable detection for specific websites using the website settings.
6. If you do not need video detection, you can disable it independently.

TIPS

• If detection is not needed on a particular website, disable it from the website settings.
• If the extension unexpectedly stops working, try reloading the page or restarting the extension.
• Performance can vary between browsers, devices and websites.

DESKTOP APPLICATION

PordaAI is also available as a desktop application.

The desktop version works directly on your screen and can process content from browsers, applications, offline video players and other desktop software.

OUR MISSION

In today's digital world, we can unexpectedly encounter haram and non-mahram content almost anywhere online. Social media, news websites, educational platforms, videos and ordinary web pages can all contain unwanted content.

By the grace of Allah, we developed PordaAI to help Muslims reduce unwanted visual exposure through technology.

As students, we have funded this project ourselves and spent more than a year researching, collecting and annotating data, training our detection model, developing the computer application and browser extension and repeatedly testing the technology.

Our goal is to contribute to a Halal Digital Environment using modern AI technology.

We are continuing to improve PordaAI and develop more tools that can help Muslims protect their digital environment and future generations.
