- Rated 1 out of 5by bogart27, 4 years agoI've been using 1Password for years and years. The way it now hijacks my autofill in Firefox has made it unusable. I have to disable it to get it to stop - which is the worst.
Please add an option to use my Firefox autofill, but allow the add-on to be enabled. It's bonkers that I can't do this.Developer response
posted 4 years agoHey bogart27,
While 1Password was never intended to use alongside another password manager such as your browser’s built-in autofill, you can definitely still work with both if you’d like!
Simply right click the extension’s icon on the top right corner of your browser and select “Settings”, then in the settings page turn off the “Make 1Password the default password manager”. That will allow you to turn on Firefox’s autofill.
In addition, We’d recommend disabling the “Show autofill menu on field focus” option as well, so 1Password’s suggestions won’t block your browser’s autofill suggestions.

posted 4 years agoHey there,
If you have the 1Password desktop app installed, and have a 1Password.com account in it, you don’t need to log into the website or spawn a new tab.
The extension will only spawn a login tab if it can’t find the desktop app. In case you do have the app installed, feel free to email us so we can troubleshoot this with you.
support+x@1password.com - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16988407, 4 years agoRequires account to use which makes it useless for local 1Password app.
Developer response
posted 4 years agoHey there,
This extension always required an account as it connects to our servers instead of reading data from the desktop app. There are quite a few advantages to that, including the ability to use the extension even if you don’t have the desktop app installed at all!
If you still have local vaults in the desktop app, you’ll want to install 1Password Classic in your browser instead: https://support.1password.com/cs/1password-classic-extension/ - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16919837, 4 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Ken Amazing, 4 years agoThis version simply doesn't work. Install, make sure permissions are all granted and click the 1password button. Nothing happens.
Installed the "Classic" version (https://support.1password.com/cs/1password-classic-extension/) and everything works fine.Developer response

This "new" login process is confusing. Supposedly the account has already been added.Developer response

The 1Password team. - Rated 1 out of 5by eyeless, 4 years agoCan only see a few items saved online at 1Password, but none of my thousands of logins saved in standalone vaults at Dropbox, like I used to be able to do and without anything to fill in it is worth nothing to me. The old extension can only open links in the default browser and not in the browser where it is installed ... eh
Developer response
posted 4 years agoHey eyeless,
If you have standalone vaults, you’ll want to use 1Password Classic instead: https://support.1password.com/cs/1password-classic-extension/
If you open and fill from the extension itself, it should open the website in the browser it is in and not in the default browser.
In case you’re still having issues, we’d love to help you out! Send us an email to support+x@1password.com - Rated 1 out of 5by MeganK, 4 years agoHi there, I have been having a persistent problem with the firefox version of the browser plugin for weeks - I click on the lock icon in my top bar, or the "unlock" button that pops up when I try to enter form data, and...nothing happens. It totally hangs and I can't use the extension at all.
I notice that other users were asked to include their console data; I am pasting mine here in case that's helpful.

posted 4 years agoHey MeganK,
Thanks for reporting this and the log.
It looks like there might be a couple users from the same account trying to be added there, if you shoot us an email at support+x@1password.com so we can get you sorted.
Until then, you can go into the extension’s settings page and turn off “Integrate with 1Password app” to disable the app integration. - Rated 1 out of 5by bitnapper, 4 years agoAnfangs hat das 1Passwort-AddOn recht gut funktioniert.

Revert to the old version and I will give 5 stars but this latest version is making me want to stop paying you hundreds of dollars and move to a better service that actually tests updates before releasing them.Developer response

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16821514, 4 years agoDo you guys test anything before you release it? Seriously. A blind monkey writes more usable code. Extensions are supposed to make the user experience easier with fewer steps and more reliable interactions. This latest "upgrade" is none of those things.

Update:
1Password reached out saying I have to download another extension. This is a bad product. They are trying to force their previous customers to their subscription model. In order to do that they are making our life complicated.

This extension only loads vaults from a 1Password.com account. If you have a Dropbox vault, you’ll need the 1Password Classic extension instead: https://support.1password.com/cs/1password-classic-extension/ - Rated 1 out of 5by Chris, 4 years agoEver since the v2.0 update I get stuck on the Loading... after entering my password. This lasts quite a while. A restart of the browser seems to get it working again but it's very annoying when you're trying to get logged in somewhere and it hangs like this. v1.x 1Password X was fluid and fast, this is a major regression in usability.

WHY ARE THERE TWO DIFFERENT VERSIONS of the browser extension? Why is it so difficult to configure? Agile Bits have very much lost their way.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14331400, 4 years agoI have several machines running either Linux, MacOS or Windows. I have Firefox running on all of them, which means that I can seamlessly switch computers. Apart from 1Password, that is, which behaves differently on each machine/OS combination. The worst of these is the present machine - running Linux 22. I have tried many times to reinstall Firefox and reinstall 1Password as an add-on. Although the add-on is installed, the icon is not displayed. When I come to a page that requires a password, I see the icon in the password entrybox, telling me to click the non-existent browser icon. Very frustrating. It's not the only problem I have with 1Password, but it's the biggest.
