by Scott, a year agoI've been a diehard BitWarden user for years now. It's all I've recommended to friends and family. That is until I discovered the Proton family of apps. Proton Pass does everything BitWarden does plus so much more.
Key Features for me:
1) The ability to have it lock behind a pin code after a short time.
2) Create email aliases on the fly without having to create a full login when signing up for a newsletters or whatever.
3) Pass Monitor: It tells me how many weak and reused passwords I have so I can remedy that, 1 by 1.
4) Aesthetics. Obviously minor for such a utilitarian app but it just looks good.
So much more. It's the best password manager I've used to date. Is it worth buying into the Proton family of apps? It's 1 piece in the puzzle but pairing it with ProtonVPN, Mail and Drive, yes, absolutely it is. You CAN use ProtonPass for free, forever but believe me when you dive into the Proton family of apps. You'll want to buy in and you won't regret it.
If you don't mind a few bucks a month to fully open up the full set of features (You can use most things with fewer features for free), Proton is pretty difficult to beat. Not to mention the 'everything encrypted' standard of Proton. It was an easy decision for me after just a few days of test driving.
