by Velvitonator, a year agoAlready excellent and always improving. Easier to use than 1Password and just as private and robust.
Along with the usual password manager set of features, you can also create e-mail aliases to hide you actual one, which in this day and age is an indispensable tool to put you in control of your identity online.
Proton also have shown responsiveness to community requests, implementing many features on their feature request hub in a relatively short amount of time.
One caveat is that if you're a Mac or iPhone user, you may need to read carefully what the feature available on your platform are. Everything seems to be on par now, but a Safari extension took significantly longer than the Chrome and Firefox ones, and older Macs had trouble installing even the desktop version. The iPhone app has also historically been a little behind the curve, but seems to have caught up. Ironically, the best way to change this situation is for more iDevice users to (vocally) use the extension!

- Rated 2 out of 5by TechnoJunkie, a day agoIt's been two months since the ProtonPass extension for Firefox was updated here. I would like Proton to make the Firefox extension available for download on their website. I would also like to see a Debian/Ubuntu repository for the Linux desktop version of ProtonPass so that you don't always have to download and install the .deb package manually. Autofill still doesn't work reliably on many sites compared to 1Password or Bitwarden. You can write to the support which websites these are, but nothing more than “we are working on it” comes back. Oh yes, ProtonDrive for Linux would also be really really great so far. When is it finally coming?

posted 4 hours agoWe appreciate the feedback, and we've made sure to document it accordingly for future consideration. Regarding autofill, our team is indeed working on improvements for all web services reported by our community, however, keep in mind that these improvements may take some time as we receive numerous reports on a daily basis.
On another note, we currently don't have an ETA that we can share for a dedicated Proton Drive Linux app, but we've added your vote to the existing feature request so that the team may prioritize it accordingly. You can follow our blog and our direct channels for any news and updates. - Rated 5 out of 5by anthimatter, a day ago
- Proton apps are very reliable in general. This password manager is the one I use the most, along with the VPN.
Although the premium version offers a lot of tools, the free tier already gives us the most productive tools for our day-to-day activity.
The most useful features are the password generator and autofill. You will be able to use extremely safe and complex passwords that you won't need to remember.
If you absolutely must remember a password, there is an option to create more memorable, although still safe passwords, such as "Amid6-Although1-Condense8-Slip1", for example.
Being an open source application based in Switzerland, it offers both technical and legal layers of protection.
If you are looking for a reliable password manager, this is one of the best alternatives. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19185477, 2 days ago
