About this extension
Qntm Block detects YouTube ads through CSS classes, DOM changes, and smart heuristics. When an ad starts, it automatically mutes the audio, applies a gentle blur, and speeds playback so interruptions pass quickly—all handled entirely in JavaScript.

From the popup menu you can fine-tune everything: set ad-playback speed, adjust blur strength, toggle muting, or enable experimental detection methods. Qntm Block is designed to avoid hurting creators’ revenue while keeping your viewing smooth and distraction-free.

Lightweight and privacy-friendly, Qntm Block runs fully in your browser with no external servers or tracking. Enjoy YouTube with fewer disruptions while still supporting content creators.

PS: YouTube undected :)

Installation
  • Firefox: Install from Add-ons
  • Chrome/Chromium: Not available on the Chrome Web Store (more about that is below), but you can install manually:
    1. Download or clone this repository.
    2. Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions.
    3. Enable "Developer mode" (top right).
    4. Click "Load unpacked" and select the extension folder.
    5. (Optional) For debugging, you can add the debug addon from the repo in the same way.

About Chromium (Chrome Web Store)

I’ve decided not to publish the extension on the Chrome Web Store. The required developer registration fee just to list an extension feels absurd to me, and I’m not willing to pay it. In my view, this pay-to-publish approach reflects poorly on the Chromium ecosystem.

That is all from me. Enjoy the extension!
