Developer comments
Add-on reads and highlights selected text. Internet connection is required, because Readspeaker TTS servers are used. There are 3 types of page parsers there: for google docs writer, word online, and other pages. PDF files are supported with
pdf.js Library. PDF file is opened with default browser pdf reader. When you open add-on window, then document is redirected to extension - and then it can be read.
Writing assistance works in Word online and Google docs. Then key event are used for spelling letters. When Add-On is closed or service is off, key event listener is registered, but events are ignored.
PDF reading library - pdf/rspeaker.js - that is just concatenated scripts for "other pages" parser + some compatibility scripts to make it work without the Add-on API
