About this extension
Stop Auto Reload is an extension that blocks unwanted reload attempts on designated pages. There are sites that can reload frequently, causing articles or links that a user was planning on viewing later to disappear. Unwanted reloads can also be a concern on a metered or slow internet connection.

Read Before Installing

Once a tab has completed loading, this extension will check to see if the tab's URL matches a blacklisted URL. If there is a match, code will be injected into the tab's page to monitor the following keyboard shortcuts for reloading tabs: Ctrl+R, Ctrl+Shift+R, F5, and Ctrl+F5. Unless one of these shortcuts is pressed, this extension will block external attempts at reloading the tab.

This extension only stops reloads of the URL showing in a tab's address bar. It does not stop elements within a page from refreshing.

Any changes to blacklisted sites are only applied after a tab has been reloaded.

If a page with injected code is active, the reload shortcuts will only work in the context of the page. They will not work when focus is on the address bar, bookmark sidebar, etc.

URLs can be blacklisted through a tab's menu, right clicking the toolbar icon, or by selecting 'Options' for this extension.

A button badge with the letter 'S' will appear over the toolbar icon if the active tab is being stopped from auto reloading.

Left clicking the toolbar icon with a button badge will reload the current page.

This extension only works on tabs with http(s) URLs. It will not work on restricted Firefox sites.

The permission 'Access your data for all websites' allows the extension to block any http(s) URL from loading and to inject code into any web page.
