Reviews for Bitwarden Password Manager
Bitwarden Password Manager by Bitwarden Inc.

by Firefox user 18747690, 3 months agoI used to consider this a 5-star product. The latest update has slowed response time, complicated the interface, and drastically reduced the number of logins that successfully autofill. The dropdown now takes up more screen space for no clear reason. The structure for use has been needlessly altered. After being trained by years of use to click on an entry to fill the login fields, that same action now opens the edit screen. It was a great product that did not need "improving". I will continue to use it, but it is no longer the fast, intuitive tool that it was. After more days of fighting with it, I am downgrading my rating. I am sick of "improvements" that drastically reduce product usability.
Response to the developer response since I cannot email:
Like most of the other commenters I have seen in blogs and other discussions, I have tried that. It does NOT address most of the glaring deficiencies of your "upgrade".
You had a quick, effective product. You have changed the basic user structure, a slap in the face of long-time users, and the new format is MORE difficult to use:
- small fill button in LARGE edit field (how often do you think a user needs to EDIT, rather than FILL a login screen?)
- the changed format above exactly opposite of the muscle memory trained by years as a user of your product
- loading ALL vault items instead of matching only (slower load and why do you think us users used folders and search???)
- larger screen footprint (your app is NOT my primary focus on the screen - it is a TOOL to support what is displayed on the rest of the screen)
It's simple. Respect your users or lose them.
I have moved back to an older version of Bitwarden which I will use until/unless I find another password manager. If you force me to upgrade, I will leave immediately.

posted 2 months agoHi. Mare sure you are on version 2024.12.4 or above, then check under Bitwarden Settings > Autofill > "Click items to autofill on Vault view" and Bitwarden Settings > Appearance > "Show quick copy actions on Vault" if you want to restore previous functionality that you may prefer.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18881377, 18 hours agoWas perfect until they recently updated it and redesigned the extension. Now it fails to save logins frequently unless I open a separate window. It is also a lot slower than it use to be.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18881047, 21 hours agothe add on refuses to stay open while windows hello biometric unlock occurs which breaks the unlock. I have to open it in the add on side panel to force it to stay open while focus changes to the biometric authentication. no other browser on windows, mac, or linux has this issue with the bitwarden add on. it is only firefox and only on windows. please fix this issue

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18880176, a day agoDestroys browser performance. What happened? I genuinely disable it when I'm not actively needing it. What a let down. Used it for years. Looking for an alternative now.

Mais pourquoi est-ce si compliqué d'aller chercher un id et un mot de passe.
Clic droit > Bitwarden >saisi automatique de l'identifiant > identifiant !!
Pourquoi pas clic droit > identifiant ??? - Rated 5 out of 5by Bashiru Mansaray, 2 days ago

The thing is, I have a protonmail subscription. I was just testing out proton-pass, i rarely used my sub because I just used it for mail. But _wow_. Proton-pass is so good! I will use that for now, the impression is awesome.
Sad bitwarden turned out like this. Im actually a paying customer. - Rated 3 out of 5by VJ99, 4 days agoGotten slow and buggy ever since they redid the UI. I'll take the old, working version back.

- Rated 2 out of 5by AJLobo, 6 days agoI rarely write reviews, but I think this is warranted. The clean, minimal interface that we used to have is gone in favor of a more clunky, busy UI. This is a regression. It even takes over a second to load all the elements on the popout. Also, why would you hide the autofill function under a secondary menu when this is the entire reason we use this extension?!
Lastly, now it gives you suggestions for logins which take priority over your favorited logins. What's next, AI integration to better inform us on how to use a password vault? - Rated 5 out of 5by sayimburak, 6 days ago

Everything related to mail binding is nonsense: it is not known who uses them on another server or how. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The master password and all passwords should be stored only on your device.
