Bitwarden Password Manager by Bitwarden Inc.

by Jon-Pierre Gentil, 2 days agoThe new UI is unfathomably bad.
It feels like the people who designed it do not actually use the product. I think a big assumption would be made that the drop-down menu isn't used much and that everyone uses the auto-fill widget embedded in the website itself. The problem is that rarely works, and I have it disabled. I don't want it. So they've changed the default behavior in the drop-down menu to "view" the item instead of "fill", and created this TINY MINISCULE "fill" button you have to click instead, with no option to revert to the previous behavior.
Fire your UX people; they're inept.
The rest of Bitwarden is a great product. But this UI change is a dumpsterfire.

- Rated 1 out of 5by yjsp, an hour agoIt was perfect until the UI update circa Dec 2024 that completely destroyed the ease of use. I can't get to my credit cards / identities on first click. They are now hidden under a drop down menu. Also, the "fill" button becomes so small it becomes a precision job. Please, don't "fix" what's not broken.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Samuel Araújo, 8 hours agoWas decent before last update, it becomes less intuitive, more complicated do autofill, sometimes i have to go back to the password list to have a fill form button, and some even need to click the tree dots (options) to look for the fill option, definetly a very bad update in therms of usability, this is suposed to autofill our passwords, and thats the reason we install this, somehow they seem o left aside the very essence of this add-on

- Rated 1 out of 5by Andreas, 13 hours agoFor personal use this is okay, not as good as lastpass, but okay. For enterprise usage, hardly usable. Enter master password, then enter a code that arrives by mail, but when window lose focus it disapears.
It's possible to work around, but the neglection by the developers make me fear for the security of the entire product. - Rated 1 out of 5by Pedro, 14 hours agoWhat is this new UI? It is such a mess to get things done, nothing is intuitive, it feels half baked.... Are you trying to copy someone else? Did we really needed all those rounded borders?
- Rated 1 out of 5by Josh, 15 hours agoI was a happy paying customer, even though I used the opensource version. Why the hell did you break the UI after many years of it being one way, for the sake of change? Trying to find a release I can rollback to.

- Rated 1 out of 5by noxypaws, a day agoLatest update has made the UI worse in every conceivable way. More clicking required, less information displayed, slower, and just destroys whatever muscle memory you may have had prior to this update.
- Rated 5 out of 5by james, a day agoI use Bitwarden across all platforms. It's the best password manager I have used.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Alex, a day agoThe latest UI changes are a serious step backwards, and seem to be in the category of "Change for the sake of change". Logically, the number one thing a user does when opening the extension is auto-fill a login - so why is that function relegated to a tiny button and clicking anywhere else opens the saved information, without even a further button to autofill from that point? It's very counterproductive and frustrating.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Anonymous User, a day agoWhile I consider Bitwarden one of the best password managers available, latest update (the one introducing new UI) - deserves negative review. Not because the extension is broken or new UI is ugly (it looks really nice), but because you've changed behavior of extension. Providing users with additional settings to go back to previous behavior (or promise to introduce such settings in future updates) is not the way how you should do it. Some users (like relatives and loved ones who were introduced to password managers by more tech-aware people) of extension got confused/lost by your changes - and it's difficult to explain over the phone what should they change to keep using Bitwarden "as usual". That's why new extension behavior should be opt-in for existing Bitwarden users.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18754789, a day agoThe interface update was a mistake. Please put the "copy username" and "copy password" buttons back the way they were. You guys added clicks instead of removing them. This is interface 101: reduce clicks.
- Rated 3 out of 5by JC, 2 days agoUsed to be 5-stars. They updated the UX/UI and to fill a password, you have to click a small "Fill" button. This makes using the extension more tedious and difficult than it needs to be.
Compare this to the old version where you could click anywhere on the item - a major downgrade for the sake of "updating the UI". - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18753713, 2 days agoThe new UI makes using this good program much more difficult to use. It even affects being able to login to some sites. Sometimes "progress" is actually a step far backwards. Please go back to the prior UI.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18008698, 2 days agoThe best password manager in my opinion, but not the biggest fan of the recent redesign. The most often used functions now have an additional step to access, like copying password or username only, and autofill is now a small button instead of just clicking anywhere on the item. The default view also puts cards and identities (being less likely to autofill) behind yet another couple clicks to filter for those.
While the appearance is nicer, the user experience is definitely worse with this update. - Rated 4 out of 5by Shashank, 2 days agoWill prefer the homepage UI inline to old UI or similar to mobile UI.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15698278, 2 days agoExcellent app I've been using for years but the recent UI update made every button very bulky which makes it so less information is visible on the screen. The update also changed the main page in the app so the things that were accessible straight away are no longer there. Wish that change got reverted.
- Rated 1 out of 5by srBandi, 2 days agoThe new UI is an utter crap and the designer should be immediately fired. The autofill dropdown on form entries are broken, usually stays there on sites where I have no credential saved. Filling the username and password on sites, which is 99% of the value the addon creates, is now a tiny fill button. All of the irrelevant logins are listed by default, why? This addon had zero UI problems, why, for the love of god, it had to be redesigned?
