- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14013375, 3 years agoAs far as i know it worked fine for me so far, but i started using Google Sheets and it kill the performance. Very laggy and slow sheets.
When i disabled this extension it started to scroll smooth as a kitty.
Update: disabling the extension on the site fixed the issue.Developer response
posted 3 years agoIt's most probably the protection of DOMRects. You can disable it on a site by site basis.
If this does not help please open an issue at https://github.com/kkapsner/CanvasBlocker/issues were we can communicate better and others can find the solution better. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15980382, 3 years ago

posted 4 years agoThis is a problem with the new 1.6 version. I already disabled the version to give me some time to investigate this problem. You can follow the progress at https://github.com/kkapsner/CanvasBlocker/issues/564 - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12370795, 4 years agoI've been using this extension for quite a long while and it was working fine, but recently it has created trouble with ebay.co.uk on my laptop. I cannot navigate on eBay. I got the following error message: CanvasBlocker is slowing down Firefox. To speed up your browser stop that extension.

posted 4 years agoIt's the same issue as with ebay.com.au (https://github.com/kkapsner/CanvasBlocker/issues/555). Unfortunately there is little I can do about this. So the only solution is to whitelist ebay.co.uk for the DOMRect API - Rated 3 out of 5by Сергей Братуха, 4 years agoПлохо, что нельзя установить на Firefox для Android. А в остальном отличное дополнение!

posted 4 years agoCanvasBlocker is ready for Firefox on Android and was available before Fenix. But in Fenix they only allow a small set of WebExtensions (https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/collections/4757633/7dfae8669acc4312a65e8ba5553036/). You can help to get CanvasBlocker part of this list by suggesting it to the recommended programm (https://github.com/kkapsner/CanvasBlocker/issues/553). - Rated 5 out of 5by Fridah, 4 years agoUse it since years! Its GREAT if you want to set the User Agent globaly, which is required if you are using Multi Acc. Containers/Temporary Containers, because a fresh Container has the true User Agent no matter which User Agent Managing Addon I tried. This Addon also is one of the fews that has ALL APIs except the Font Fake Readout, slimming your JS Fingerprinting Addons down. Another major for me is that you can devicde if you want a fixed readout fake or like the DOM In and out be faked, because many addons do not let the user decide. Overall I hope it will be a long supported app, and would consider to donate without hesitation (Dev, please add some "civilian" payment method, because I will not send you BTCs :D sorry). And thank you again Dev, your work really is appreciated and I wished I could have helped you with the translation, but we speak the same native language so you have already done it ;o)
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14792473, 4 years agoseems very nice, thank you !
but,
- I can't follow instructions because extension is translated (in French)and I can't choose english so: how do I disable translation (to have it in English) ?
- Instructions are not really clear: what are letters displayed on the icon ? When I go on a test fingerprinting page, it changes from green icon to red, show some numbers (of fingerprinting attemps I guess) and then there is a letter like "C" or "D": what does it mean ? Didn't found anything about that
- on the provided test page "Canvas test", it is said that hash are expected to be the same when refreshed. What does it mean if they change (when I click "refresh" button hash change) ?
-On the configuration page I have a text highlighted in red saying something in French (thus why is it translated by default if I don't want ?): "Vous avez activé la protection contre le pistage de Fingerprinting (empreinte digitale – composants de l’ordinateur)." = "You have activated protection against fingerprinting (fingerprint-computer component): what does it mean ? is it bad or good and if bad what can I do ?Developer response
posted 4 years agoThe extension is translated in several languages (https://crowdin.com/project/canvasblocker) and the main language is English. As the used language is controlled by Firefox you have to check your browser settings to know why it's displayed in French.
The letters on the icon indicate which APIs where protected by the extension (C = canvas, D = DOMRect, N = naivgator, W = window, A = audio). If you hover over the icon with your mouse you should get a tooltip with further information. But you get the detailed information when you click on the fingerprint icon in the url bar.
If the hashes do not change it can mean several things - most likely something in your settings. Please open an issue at https://github.com/kkapsner/CanvasBlocker/issues with all your questions and your settings. This review system is not great for extensive communication.
The red message indicates that you have privacy.resistFingerprinting enabled which changes the behaviour of CB slightly (it most likely explains that the hashes do not change). It's not bad - just something to be aware of. Here is the English translation of that message: You have privacy.resistFingerprinting enabled. This slightly changes the behaviour of CanvasBlocker. posted 4 years agoYou can only use it on the Nightly branch Firefox for Android at the moment: https://github.com/kkapsner/CanvasBlocker/issues/521
Only 18 extensions are currently available on normal Firefox for Android: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/collections/4757633/7dfae8669acc4312a65e8ba5553036/- Rated 5 out of 5by fantom, 4 years agoBe sure to set all settings to "fake data" and not "disable" or "block signature." Blocking fingerprinting is a fingerprint itself. Faking the signature during each visit is more effective.
