by AcecardflipsHatsdownmix, a year agoTop need in future war with AI Copilots and Getliners. There is something which may render useless this addon and is called timing. If the time at which the addon interferes with the bad behaviors on web comes after the websites links, libraries and content was traded between browser user and web then is useless. Preloading and preview and AI Copilot tagging and learning, crawling techniques are today acting long before we have seen the link on screens. At some point the AI Copilots learn and guess what we want to write in search engines before we even wrote it. So ... Yes, is very useful addon, but it must act timely ahead of these issues. Perhaps if included in Firefox among a Firefox AI Copilot learning from web behavior, instead of learning from us, then is quite very top addon in the future.
I've seen the addon was implemented on Microsoft Edge browser which is exactly the one I dropped before coming to Firefox because Microsoft built a so called elligible browser for their needs to test their AI Copilot which was blocking me from seeing search results, writing, bugging me when searching for websites with Edge and ... Well not quite funny to browse the web followed by a big brother AI shadow who bugs you even now when writing this tried to bug me ... While I'm on Firefox but still under the hood of Microsoft AI. So I do not understand your cooperation with them. Maybe their AI tricked you they are fine

- Rated 3 out of 5by Mythy, a month agoI've used this for a while. This is a warning, but this will mess up your Amazon! My Prime Video was not working and after going through my add-ons, this was the cause. It sucks, but I just need to warn other users who are having issues with their Amazon.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 14520466, 2 months agoCan't believe this is a recommended add-in. Causes major malfunctions on amazon.de: 1) Prevents seeing reviews when selecting 'more reviews' and then navigating to the second page, or using filters by star rating. 2) prevents opening of popups to add notes on items in a wish list.
This has been going on for a while and i had no idea what was causing amazon to malfunction, did some time-consuming testing disabling addons one by one, and there is no doubt it was this one to cause troubles. - Rated 3 out of 5by Leviii, 2 months agoGood addon but isn't updated frequently so bugs go without being addressed.

Daher habe ich ClearURLs erst mal deaktiviert.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Saint.77, 3 months agoOne of the essentials if you dont want to be traced on internet if you share links, however it lacks one thing: it does not remove tracking from the "share" button on youtube. For that you need the tiny addon called "Youtube clean share" aswell, that tiny little addon together with this is the essentials that give you a complete package for safe private sharing of links if you for example use VPN and desire privacy when you share links like youtube videos that sneak in embedded tracking code.
- Rated 2 out of 5by PanzerIV88, 3 months agoIn theory it sounds pretty cool and it actually works at Amazon where it is the most needed for my needs... HOWEVER there is a MAJOR FLAW and it's that if enabled it completely BREAKS the search results from (Google IA) on Google.com so I must completely disable the addon since there is no "Exeption List" which is very dumb!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Lilith D. Bracken, 3 months agoReally handy privacy tool that cleans up all those long, messy URLs full of tracking stuff. It automatically removes unnecessary parameters so links stay clean and private. Everything works in the background, and pages still load normally. I like how simple it is; no setup needed, just install and forget about it. Perfect for anyone who wants a cleaner browsing experience and less tracking without any extra effort.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Maryth, 3 months agoWorks well for most URL trackers, like those in spotify and youtube links.
But we definitely need a one-time exception button. It breaks a lot of forwarding, for example when trying to log into Google Play Desktop app, it removes the ID used for the app login. I frequently need to disable this addon, which is very annoying and defeats the purpose
