- Rated 5 out of 5by PhoenixGrey, 11 days agoFunctions exactly as expected. Some tuning is required but that's more a function of the sites rather than the extension. Great work, and thank you for making the web easier on my eyes.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18734509, 11 days agoAn incredible eye-saver. It does an infinitely better job than other similar extensions, issues are rare, and the feature set allows users to set rules for problematic sites. Although it's not always the absolute most performant add-on, the DarkReader team are clever in their solutions, quick to address issues when popular websites cause incompatability, and deserve a ton of praise for this volunteer-created tool. Thanks guys, you're appreciated!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16255010, 11 days agoIt was relatively good until recently, when it was automatically updated, and after that I could not see the bookmarks in the bookmarks sidebar, nor the menu bar. All was just black, except for the icons for the bookmarks in the sidebar. It became useless
Eventually I figured it out.
So here is how it should be explained:
Open the settings of the Dark Reader > Click the "More" tab > Click "All Settings" > Click/toggle "Change Browser Theme" so that it says "Default browser theme is active".
If you want some custom browser theme, install it or enable it AFTER all this procedure through Firefox Themes settings. You actually may need to uninstall and reinstall the Dark Reader extension and revert to the default Firefox browser theme in the Firefox settings before all this. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18734097, 11 days ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by cactuspal2024, 12 days agoMade an account just to leave this review, which is long overdue. This add-on enables me to use almost any website effortlessly while healing from debilitating photosensitivity. I simply could not have used most of my favorite websites for the last year without it. Any bugs that might arise from other sites updating are SWIFTLY addressed by the developer and with transparency for all users. The dev tools under the hood are robust, and so any site with niche use cases for my personal needs are also accessible. I wish I could throw money at the dev for providing an invaluable tool for so many people, working tirelessly to uphold its quality, and helping so many of us use the internet without pain. I hope this review, and the hundreds of people I have recommended this app to (many of which are abled but just enjoy reduced eyestrain now!!!), can be the next best thing!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15243232, 12 days agoAbsolutely essential for me to use the web. Works out of the box on 97% of websites and is easily configured to work or temporarily disabled on the other 3%.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Adam Shepherd, 12 days agoDark Reader is a cool tool for those, who prefer to read the web in a dark environment. It offers to change websites to a dark version, that otherwise do not offer the option. But if a site does offer already a dark theme, Dark Reader offers users to opt out from altering an already dark site to it's dark version. It is also possible to disable darkening sites all together. The preview interface (which I can't wait to see fully implemented) also support dynamic switching to a dark theme.
The author faces many uphill battle to support this add-on, and the fact that they still provide support despite all the backlash is more astonishing then anything. May be biased myself, it definitely deserves a positive rating.
