- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13773661, 5 months agoIt works well on mobile, but if you turn off the screen and you're listening to a playlist on mobile YouTube, it stops at the end of the current video.

- Rated 4 out of 5by danusty, 6 months agoagree with the person who said that sometimes you have to refresh youtube when turning the video on or off. I have never experienced this with the chrome version though.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14878419, 10 months agoDoes not work any more with new picture in picture YouTube mode, please fix if It Is possibile! Playback is arrested when Firefox Is minimized, when returning to tab page reloads.... This happens with Ublock origin, Tampermonkey and YouTube High Definition active extensions but unfortunately also if any other is deactivated, with any internal setting.
When extension Is loaded YouTube video doe not play at all.
My system is Android 13, phone is Xiaomi Note 10S.
On Windows I think that this extension is of little use with other ad-block installed.
Updated at 03/07/2024: please check if disabling picture in picture capability of Firefox solves the problem.
"Video background play fix" extension works better but also this trick is not 100% definitive, code must be updated to manage new YouTube non-premium feature probably introduced purposely.
As another useful information, disabling Ublock Origin and enabling Ghostery video playback issue seems fully solved, obviously with Music Mode extension disabled...
Thank you!Developer response
posted 10 months agoThank you for the report. Do you use the extension on Android or Windows? - Rated 4 out of 5by Boss Slayer, 10 months agoI love the form and function to just block off 90 percent of YouTube on Web browser is a big feat but running the add on through a generic android 13 tablet is so unstable scrolling up or down the page runs away then refreshes constantly.

posted 10 months agoThank you for the review! Can you please explain in detail what is the issue that you face? Do you mean that the icon runs away while scrolling? And what refreshes constantly? - Rated 1 out of 5by Zed, 10 months agoThe extension stops during a video. You must close the page and reload it again and go to the extension to make it on to this page. Please fix it
This happens on youtube when i hear a song with lock screen on. I go to the extention it doesn't open and must reload the page again, go to the extention and enable it on againDeveloper response
posted 10 months agoThank you for the report. Can you please be more clear in order to be able to understand the issue and help you? What do you mean by saying "the extension stops" and that you have to "go to the extension to make it on to this page"? - Rated 3 out of 5by Luis, 10 months agoThis extension has helped me for a long period, because i often use limited internet connection and deactvating videos helps saving bandwith.
BUT, i recently migrated to firefox and i don't know why here this extension causes a bizarre bug that is when i play a song in a playlist, shows one music but plays the audio from the next music.
I don't know why this is occuring, but is very frustrating, and only sometimes that this happens. I just use in youtube music this extension, but i have disabled it because of this error.
(And sorry, i don't speak natively english, maybe have some misspell but i have to post this review to report this)Developer response
posted 10 months agoThank you for the report. I will test the extension and let you know. However, I think that this bug is impossible to happen. Can you please check if you have any other extensions that cause this issue? Οr check if you have enabled the extension's option "Show video thumbnail in video player"? If so, then maybe the thumbnail that you see is from the previous video but the audio is the correct one. - Rated 5 out of 5by Ursuskeen, a year ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 11615950, a year agoI was concerned by comments about the extension not realIy blocking the video stream-- just hiding it. I opened Firefox's Task Manager while streaming a music video on youtube, to see if toggling Music Mode on and off affected memory & power usage. Enabling Music Mode didn't seem to reduce the CPU or Memory footprint while streaming. Too bad.
If you just want to hide images, it's good. I use Music Mode in Chrome when I'm teaching. There are lots of options on what to hide & show.Developer response
posted a year agoThank you for the review! I am glad that you use the extension and it helps you.
The extension does indeed fully block videos, reducing YouTube data usage. To verify, you can check the Firefox Web Developer Tools. Live videos are the only exception (as it is mentioned in the extension's description). The impact includes a decrease in CPU, memory, and a noticeable decrease in GPU usage (almost 0% usage), which directly affects power consumption. However, keep in mind that if you want lower CPU usage, you have to disable the "Always visible progress bar" option.
Hope this clarifies. Have a great year! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13735421, a year agoThank you so much for this wonderful extension!!!
Could you please add the 'Video quick access button' on YouTube Shorts? - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16921071, a year ago

posted a year agoCan you please confirm that you use the latest version of the extension, your browser is up to date and there is no other extension that causes this malfunction?- Rated 5 out of 5by JJ, a year agoI love this extension! It's acutally the best option, if you'd like to use youtube but don't get distracted by all the thumbnails (so in the end you spend half the day on youtube).
What do you think about adding a "hard mode" where you have to enter a pin oder solve a math problem to deactivate the music mode? That would be really cool.
