uBlock Origin is fast and offers a great granularity for power users.
But 3 important remarks to the developer :
- Storage in cloud doesn't work with Firefox account, but does work with google account (so Chrome)
I am unable to retrieve profiles on another computer using the same Firefox account
It seems that cloud storage with Firefox is only a local backup, not a cloud storage.
It is probably a basic bug and I am very surprised to be the only one to have noticed that.
- There is no real time synchronization option for lists setup, dynamic filtering rules, white list, black list.
Just look at ScripSafe... it does a really good job on Firefox and chrome. When synchro is activated, the user can set or modify a rule and it will immediately synchronize data to the cloud, and so when starting session on another computer, at startup the browser downloads automatically the updated rules from cloud.
Today one must validate the temporary settings to permanent and export manually the config list, dynamic rules, and whit/back list to the cloud. With chrome one can easily download from the cloud but still manually, with Firefox as cloud storage is buggy one must use txt file export/import.
- Suprinsingly there is no easy way to deactivate temporally and TOTALLY the extension
One can deactivate filtering for the current page ONLY, but there is still a filtering process in the background as I can keep on receiving uBlock popup pages when redirections occur asking me some action to white list or black list temporarily or definitively a given domain. One needs to go to extension management and deactivate. This is stupid, VERY stupid, I just can't imagine why the developer hasn't implemented an easy switch ALL button as implemented in many other extension.
I would also be interested by uMatrix with his great granularity, but same remarks, and today I use ScripSafe because real time synchronization is working very well, but ScripSafe is missing some granularity options. It is sometimes necessary to only forbide a specific element on a given page.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Ghost Rider, 16 hours agoIt doesn’t work correctly on the website kinopoisk.ru; the window for adding information (person, film, series) does not open at all. If you disable space filtering, then everything works as it should. Correct the filtering a little.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19041341, 18 hours agouBlock Origin is hands down the most powerful and efficient ad blocker available. It’s lightweight, fast, and incredibly customizable. Whether you're looking to block annoying ads, trackers, or even specific elements on a page, this extension gives you full control.
What really sets uBlock Origin apart is its performance—it uses fewer system resources than most alternatives while offering more advanced features for power users. The default settings work great out of the box, but if you're technically inclined, you can go deep with dynamic filtering, custom rules, and multiple block lists.
Massive respect to Raymond Hill for maintaining such a high-quality, open-source project. It's clear that privacy, transparency, and user choice are top priorities here.
If you care about a faster, cleaner, and more private browsing experience, install uBlock Origin. You won’t regret it. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18640159, 19 hours ago
