- Rated 5 out of 5by ANGRYfox25, 4 years agoIf you're learning Japanese but find it scary to read it on the internet, fear no more. This extension is a must have for learners as it doesn't interrupt your reading experience and saves a lot of time form having to look up the definition yourself. Its like that friend who you can ask whenever you forget a word or don't know something.

posted 4 years agoThank you so much! We should use that last line as our tagline 😉 - Rated 5 out of 5by haystreet, 4 years agoCould at least give a heads up if it's going to download a 400 MB dictionary file in the background. Doubled my FF portable size. Kept deleting cache thinking I had a virus or something.

posted 4 years agoThank you! That's very generous of you to give a 5 star review despite your concerns about the download size.
The download size is only about 14Mb but once that gets decompressed and stored in IndexedDB it swells to over 300Mb on disk. It seems like the IndexedDB indices are particularly large and at some point I hope to find a way to reduce them somewhat.
The up-side is that by storing the data in IndexedDB Rikaichamp uses much less memory when it is running and can be kept up-to-date by just downloading the changed records each week which is normally only a few kilobytes.
Sorry about the alarm it caused you though! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13515138, 4 years ago

I'm so glad Rikaichamp is proving helpful with your learning! - Rated 5 out of 5by dirtbaggins, 4 years agoRikaichamp is everything I want in a pop-up dictionary, and I've been using it for over a year. I just downloaded Firefox Nightly, so I can use Rikaichamp on my Android phone once again! Thanks for making my life easier. ありがとうございました!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15739489, 4 years agoThanks for that great app, it's best of best. I didn't even expect pitch hints. Mindblowing!
But is it possible to install dictionary for different language, russian, for example?Developer response
posted 4 years agoThank you so much for your very kind words! There's no possibility to install other dictionaries at the moment but I hope to release a version that includes Russian definitions for a lot of the words in the next month or two. - Rated 5 out of 5by Jojo, 4 years agoThis add-on is very VERY helpful for me to study Japanese. I wish I had known this add-on years ago. Thank you so much Brian san!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15013042, 4 years agoThank you for this outstanding pop-up dictionary, it is a useful tool for Japanese learning like me. Recently I also installed Yomichan (similar like yours). In Yomichan I can copy the dictionary's explanation. I wish Ricachamp can do the same job too.

posted 4 years agoHi! Thank you very much! You can copy dictionary explanations by pressing the "c" key when the popup is showing. Then you can press "c" again to choose which entry to copy followed by "e", "t" or "w" depending on which format you'd like to copy in. - Rated 5 out of 5by Hachisa, 4 years ago

posted 4 years agoThank you so much! I hope to make Rikaichamp work with Firefox for Android in the future once Mozilla allows arbitrary extensions to run on Firefox for Android. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16528224, 4 years ago
