- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13277601, 8 years agoDoesn't do shit! I mean, it really is not working for even the simplest cases. What is this?
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13556682, 8 years agoIt takes 1 full second after the site will be blocked. Its useless when sites redirect you.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13547137, 8 years agoMuch worse than previous releases. It does a very poor job blocking sites. I am looking for another blocker. It used to work but now very ineffective. Letting a lot of sites I thought I had blocked through. Wildcards are no longer allowed so all the offending site has to do is make a small change and it gets through.
BLOCKS ALMOST NOTHING!!! - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13545728, 8 years agoBlocking in the new version for FF 57 does not work in many cases. E.g. I have this file blocked and yet it is loaded. Before all worked as expected.
apps.[removed].sk/[removed]/js/jquery-1.11.1.min.js
Old version was very useful, the new one is useless. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13541795, 8 years agoThe URLs in my Block-List always are destroyed by themselves. At least: It seems so to me. But - may be its the final proof of extraterrestrial life.
If the Blocklist is activatet the URLs come up inspite of it. Withput my activity. So I think by myself - is it a stupid joke - made by the MOZILLA-staff ?
The Blocklist-addon seems to me absolutely useless.
But - may be Im only a 60 years old idiot.......................................
Warm regards
Thomas - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13538186, 8 years agoIt doesn't work as it would work
It can block a url but not a domain
I mean,
I can block www.domain.com/page1.html
but not domain.com
I've tested domain.com*, domain.com/*, domain.com.*, etc and nthing to do
The previous version was working very well but this no, doesn't work - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13537585, 8 years agoIn theory a well-designed effective app. In practice, it clears my blocklist every time i close firefox, rendering it useless. Reimporting only reintroduces sites, no other settings. Giant waste of time unless the blocklist actually saves. Help?
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13456834, 8 years ago1. Doesn't allow me to edit a blocked site
2. I could do without the smart-a*s comments at the bottom of screen! What is the point!! If you want to keep count, fine, but there's no need for the smart-a*s cr*p.
The old app was great, I loved it; sometimes if it ain't broke don't fix it - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13305358, 8 years agoLiterally it is a useless extension, I say literally because it only "blocks" some sites and others do not, and sometimes it doesnt work either. And write "blocks" because it does not avoid the pop-up since it opens an annoying tab, that's why it's useless.
I have been using this extension for years but with the last big update they destroyed all the good work they had done years ago, luckily there is an alternative that I found that is similar to the previous one and functional (I recommend it before this) - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13530348, 8 years ago- the new version is toooooooo slow
- the new interface is confusing
- does not block sites that already have listings
- Most of the time it does not let add url
Summing up: it's useless - Rated 1 out of 5by knphilipp, 8 years agoUnchanged since last update to firefox, I can still access blocked sites, I still can get redirected to blocked sites by scripts.
Before the changes to firefox, this app was literally the best option for blocking "redirect" urls. (FireInk.com, pipsol.*, etc). However now it won't block the sites like before. It no longer prevents the page from loading. (No more pop up about how the site contains parts on the black list). On a redirect url, it will still load and then redirect to obnoxious (or pornographic) advertisements. Before by preventing the loading of the blacklisted url, the redirect would fail and the desired link would load like it should!
Example: I tested this with google.com. It would load the website for an instant before replacing it with the message that the site is blocked by BlockSite. An instant is too long, the redirect urls would have chained multiple pop ups with annoying fullscreen effects, and "error" messages that require being clicked on.
It is impossible to enter the url "Example.*/*" anymore, as the wildcard is an invalid url (it can't replace .com, org, xm, ag, tg, to, biz, gov, etc...) This makes it harder to block websites with multiple endings. For example if I wanted to block google, I would have to literally go and block every single country extension instead of just putting "www.google.*" Please change this back, it is very useful.
Why remove functionality? I can no longer edit the list once it is made, only delete entries. I can no longer make a note of why I blocked a website. I often did this for scam "Dating" popup ads, or pornographic content since the url would be a garbled string of random characters which was impossible to identify in an hour.
The addon, no longer performs as advertised. I'm currently looking for an alternative, or a way to install the old version. I would use an older version of firefox if required. Screw speed, I just wanna surf the net safely. :( - Rated 1 out of 5by joblack, 8 years agoSends 'anonymous' data via default to the server. Not trustworthy.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13509331, 8 years agoAfter restart the addon didn't anything.
URL list (I switched to white list) is empty too.
Maybe the reason is new Firefox... - Rated 1 out of 5by kalachakraa, 8 years agoI like the toolbar button, but the automatic update to 3.1.14 wiped out my blacklist. Booooo!

Blocksite Support - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13456769, 8 years agoSince BlockSite was updated to the version that is compatible with Firefox 57, every single time I start Firefox a tab pops up "Thank you for using BlockSite". Extremely annoying! No other addon does this.

Blocksite Support - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 5668832, 8 years agoDoes not really block sites! When you open a blocked site, you do sometimes see the blocked site for the fraction of a second. That means if a site is blocked for malware reasons, you might already be infected when this add-on redirects you to wherever you define it to redirect to.

Procon Latte was/is the better option. Block Site can be disabled without a password through the Tools- Add ons, THIS IS NOT GOOD! Defeats the purpose.
