- Rated 3 out of 5by elctro, 7 years agothanks for the awesome add-on
please make it like the old version when just show notification that the page is blocked then it vanished & not opening a page saying it's block! it's annoying
the other thing is it doesn't add URL like this one (http://appiness.online) it says incorrect URL! it should add any kind of URLs even the an expected one
& last please make the block list sync with browser account - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13429427, 7 years agoHi Blocking Site team!
Latest build 3.1.14 doesn't work at all on my Firefox 56.0.2.
I've installed previous version 1.1.9.0 and it works again! :)
I'm aware that it's not compatible with Firefox 57...
I understand that you needed to upgrade your add-on according to Firefox update but deploying a buggy version doesnt sound good in my opinion! :)
Anyway, thanks for this great addon in 1.1.9.0 with Firefox 56... :)
Regards
François - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13429263, 7 years agoBefore the update I was satisfield with that extension.
After the update, it shows up the "thank you" page every start and I cannot turn it off.
The interface was also changed and it seems, you have to use a different syntax to successfully add pages to be blocked by BlockSite.
I will search for a different tool, if it continues to open the extra page every start of Firefox.
Edit: To successfully add a site to block, you have to use 'www.pagename.ending'. just 'pagename.ending' will not work.Developer response

Blocksite Support - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13428418, 7 years agoBefore this update everything was perfect, now it doesn't seem to block any requests sent to the blocked site but only blocks direct browsing to the supposedly "blocked" websites.
Guess I'll have to find another blocker.Developer response

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13417811, 7 years agoIt simply does not work. The previous version worked exceptionally well and was easy to use. This "updated" version is terrible. The interface is much more difficult to use and is obviously not written by the same people that designed and wrote the original version. I don't believe that the addon itself is not malware. I am getting rid of it and looking for something else.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13426857, 7 years agoAt Win7-System installed 10.11.2017: at least 2 importend Errors: 1. actual Version dosn´t save url in block-List, 2. every start of firefox appears an extra windows/tab with blocksite (intro/),
that´s a clear deterioration of addon, makes it unuseable.
Former Version was installed about 2 weeks ago at Win10 System worked fine.Developer response

Blocksite Support - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13426424, 7 years agoDoes exactly what it says it will. Deducted 1 star because when you block a site via the context menu, it blocks the whole web address, which many spam websites avoid by randomising the specific webpage's name or adding random characters in the sub-domain area before the domain name. It would be great to have the option to block a whole *domain* by context menu. You can't edit blocked addresses, so you have to delete the full web address entry and retype just the domain name manually. Also, if you paste something into the manual entry box, it highlights the whole thing so you can't edit just a part of it - Problematic if the website's name is deliberately complicated. If not for these obstacles to ease of use, I'd happily give this 5 stars.
