- Rated 4 out of 5by Dogger, 6 years agoIt's a very useful addon, but three problems limit its utility once you have a large number of entries.
1. You can't sort or rearrange items,
2. It has a search window in Organize mode, but you can't search when you're trying to Insert.
3. While inserting, you only see the first fragment of an item. You should be able to see the whole thing when you hover your cursor over it.Developer response
posted 6 years agoStarting with version 6.1, which was just released, reordering of clippings and folders in Clippings Manager using drag and drop will now be saved, and the ordering will be reflected in the Clippings menu. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13843129, 7 years agoWould it be possible to speed up showing the window when pressing Alt+Shift+Y?
It used to show up almost instantly in previous versions (maybe lower than version 6) and now it takes almost 1-2 seconds to appear and I use the app quite often and all these waits count altogether. - Rated 4 out of 5by mrbunnylamakins, 7 years agoI was enjoying Clippings a lot and was using it the other day till today, when it gave me the message " Clippings won't work in Private Browsing mode, or if the browser privacy settings are too restrictive. Your clippings will not be accessible, and new clippings cannot be created." I have Not changed anything. And why did a page open after restarting Firefox with as if reloaded. Plus the Message "database for storing data from your add-ons is not accessible."

posted 6 years agoSee the known issues page for information on how to resolve this: http://aecreations.sourceforge.net/clippings/known-issues.php - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14209043, 7 years agoI use it to fill in notes at work everyday, a huge time saver!!! Only problem is you cannot reorder the clips to your liking, the feature is there but does not save or function. Exporting and importing is somewhat cumbersome too, but other than that it works great thanks!
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14155623, 7 years agoThis is a great product. Thanks. When a new Ffox update came, FFox marked this Clippings 6.0.6 as DISABLED. Now, all my content are gone. Any way to retrieve it after the fact and import into the new version? Please help point me how I can export the current contents. FFox verion is, FFox Quantum 60.1.0esr (32-bit). Thanks.

posted 7 years agoI don't see how it's possible that Clippings could get disabled when upgrading Firefox; there is no "maximum" compatible Firefox version set for Clippings 6.0.6. If Clippings is still disabled, try downgrading to your previous version of Firefox (be careful not to choose the option to delete your Firefox profile). - Rated 4 out of 5by TheInvoker, 7 years agoThis extension stopped working because now it says "clippings doesn't work when the privacy settings in Firefox are too restrictive, such as turning on Private Browsin mode...." But i didn't change anything and Private Browsing is not enabled.

posted 7 years agoThe likely cause is that the database that Clippings uses to store its data has become corrupted. Run Firefox Refresh (instructions here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings), then reinstall Clippings. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 6511978, 7 years ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by PeaceByJesus.net, 7 years agoI have used this a lot with Firefox ESR, and was glad to see that it is been recoded for Quantum. However, I did not install it on Quantum after it warned that this add-on wants my permission to

A bit much? - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14014205, 7 years agoClippings has been nothing short of a lifesaver at work.
** It would be nice if newly added templates in a folder would remain in the same spot when you close the browser. All new templates default to the end of the folder instead of holding it's place when the browser is closed. ** I hope that this gets fixed soon.Developer response
posted 6 years agoGood news: the issue you described has been fixed in Clippings 6.1 (latest update 6.1.2 as of the time of this post). - Rated 4 out of 5by samkad, 7 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13823639, 7 years agoJ'aime cette extension car je la trouve très pratique à utiliser au quotidien, mais pas contre je n'arrive pas à placer mais message dans l'ordre que je voudrais du coup il se place un peu la ou ils veulent pour ça que je met une étoile de moins.
Merci. - Rated 4 out of 5by fayetandog, 7 years agoHi! I love this, just one problem is that it isn't working well with Facebook comments. When I paste the clipping on Facebook comments the comment box just disappears as seen in this GIF http://www.giphy.com/gifs/3o752cTQIWIOTgmtQ4
It's very useful for social media managers like me so hoping for a solution for this issue! :)Developer response
posted 7 years agoFacebook is preventing pasting of clipping text, and mass text inserts in general, into comment boxes as well as in Messenger. This may be an actual feature on their end, and there are no plans for Clippings to defeat it. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13615078, 7 years agoThis plugin is awesome. But recently the export stopped working and it only gives option to save as json which gives a 1 KB file with just heading.

posted 7 years agoThere have been other reports of this issue, and I would like to get more details to find the cause so that I can fix it. Could you try the export again and see if there are any error messages that appear in the browser console? Please post your findings to the AE Creations Help and Support forum: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/aecreations-help - Rated 4 out of 5by CocoMarmela, 7 years agoI'm not able to even download the add on- seems that needs like an upgrade or something can you help me?

posted 7 years agoYou need Firefox 57 or newer to get Clippings 6. If you are using an older version of Firefox, install version 5.5.2 from the "See all versions" link from the sidebar on the left. - Rated 4 out of 5by sebbyz, 7 years agoClippings is a great tool but I haven't noticed any improvement with the update to Clippings 6 and the following issues are problematic, if anyone knows how to fix I would be grateful:-
1.Could originally view the shortcut list to see which keys I had assigned, that's no longer available.
2. I don't have the option to add color to the clippings flags
3.Search tool is so much slower with the new version.Developer response
posted 7 years agoIt's not so much of an upgrade: Clippings had to be rewritten to be compatible with Firefox 57 and newer, which imposes new requirements for Firefox add-ons. Some features like the shortcut key list and colored labels didn't make it into Clippings 6, but will be considered for upcoming releases. I will continue to monitor feedback from other users before deciding on what to do with the search functionality in Clippings Manager (I assume this is the "search tool" you were talking about). - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13038566, 7 years agoPretty good, but can you please remove the console.log() commands from it? It bugs the heck out of me. :)
- Rated 4 out of 5by Redacted, 7 years agoWorks well enough, current version is a bit buggy though, a few field boxes don't seem to work like the ones here on AMO https://i.imgur.com/2qi7xgw.png
Then there is the Exporting that seem to not work at all, And I've also had issues with deleting things with the manager, other then that works great and a fantastic timesaver.

There is one feature request I have for the Dev if he see this, can there be an option to remove this in the context menu https://i.imgur.com/dHTdxyw.png when highlighting text (I don't use this at all, and hate cluttering up this menu with unnecessary things). I do want it to be there for when I'm in field boxes though https://i.imgur.com/oYrCV8R.png - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13462464, 7 years agoReally great ext. Small, simple and does the job. I'm using it to quickly bring up useful bits of txt when I'm using the web.
However, when entering and rearranging the text I found I habitually kept using the delete key, which no matter where the cursor is, deletes the clippings, folders ... Personally I'd love this deactiveated (there is a trash bin on the UI), or , delete key only deletes clip/folder when it's clearly highlighted, or pin clippings so can't delete? Anyway, good job and many thanks!Developer response
posted 7 years agoThis is a bug with Clippings Manager which will be fixed in an upcoming maintenance release. For now, use Backspace instead. If you accidentally delete a clipping or folder, click Undo to bring it back. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13451491, 7 years agoUnable to export - export process creates an empty json file.
- Rated 4 out of 5by 左右, 7 years agoGreat add-on, but I can't doulble-click the clippings to paste them after upgrade to Firefox 57.0(64bit) on win10.. Please fix this.
